They ring constantly and never leave a message. I can only presume they are telemarketers or scammers

He said he was from Optus, and would like to offer me 30% off my bill for the next three months on phone + internet due to COVID. Asked for my DOB, I asked for his name and position in Optus because I said I'd like to ensure it wasn't a scam first. He got defensive and said "WHO told you it was a scam?!" I said nobody, but that I don't give my personal details over the phone without confirming who I am giving them too, and that I'd like to call Optus then call him back. He sarcastically said "Fine then, do that." Then hung up on me. I called Optus and they confirmed they were offering no such deal, and that anything like that would be listed on their website. SCAM DO NOT TRUST THESE LOUSY PEOPL!!

These guys are calling and offering a 50% discount on your utility bills. Please DO NOT fall into their trap. They will first pay your bill and show you the paid screenshot. They will then ask you to deposit 50% of your bill into their account. Once you pay them, they will cancel their payment to whatever utility bill you asked them to pay. After that, you will be left with an unpaid bill and 50% of your bill gone towards them. These are SCAMMERS. Here's an article about them:

https://www.scamnet.wa.gov.au/scamnet/Scam_types-Attempts_to_gain_your_personal_information-Phishing-Discount_bills.htm

Now they are operating as Discount Zone. They have a website and it's fake.

Caller: I don't know

they called me pretending to be Optus. they used this platform to say that I get a new iPhone for 50 dollars including the monthly plan. so basically I get a new phone. they say that in order to proceed with the order I have to give them the date of birth and other confirmation information such as your service number. they have name name from the moment they call they. Further they also managed to change contact email though a message code which Optus gave me. after that they used to code to reset my email details and managed to place and incomplete order. They presumably want to order a phone and send it to their address

Annoyed person

Caller: (03) 9108 7728

Lady with a strong Indian accent, who I was hardly able to understand. She said they were from Telstra and someone was trying to hack my account, and now they don't know whose is the real account. They wanted my full name and date of birth, so that they know which account is real, mine or the other one from the hacker. I asked her what the other person's name was and she said "Natasha", as if Telstra would give away someone else's information.
When I said I do not give personal information over the phone, she told me not to worry. When I said I still wouldn't give her any information over the phone, and she got very unfriendly. I then repeated I don't give info over the phone and told her I was going to hang up. I can only say beware and block that caller.

Claiming to be Vodafone and said they’re doing a “promotion” and that because my number is with Vodafone, I’ve won a free iPhone 12 with free shipping. They can’t even scam properly LOL.

I didn't answer and rejected the call as the number was from another state. Immediately I saw two Private Call attempts which my phone auto rejected.

Not giving up they tried again the next second with a bizzare number so I answered to humour them.

The caller claims to be from Vodafone and wanted to give me a free phone if I did x,y and z.

Scam.

Caller: Scammer Pretending to Be Telstra

Caller pretends to be from Telstra (or another company) telling you that they need to get on your PC and fix it due to a security issue. They are just trying to gain access to your PC remotely. If they gain access they will try convince you to leave them connected while they "work on your PC" at which time they will try find any saved passwords for banking or your email. If they find your banking details (saved for example in a text file, or just in the browser) they will log in and transfer money from your account. Please just hang up and block their number if they call.

A female caller with Indian accent, claimed to be from OPTUS Billing offering 50% discount for next 3 months.

I told her to call back later because I was busy. She asked which state I am from.
A person from Billing department would know the customer address.

Received a call today. Indian female. apparently about a government initiative fitting power saving device to my electricity meter, would I be home on Monday? It sounded dodgy. I called the number back, got a recorded message ‘you have called a marketing company….’. If anyone rocks up on Monday, which I doubt, I’ll be calling the cops and having them arrested for trespass.
