The racist stuff is a bit embarrassing Anthony. Not that it is surprising, but you’ve also managed to spell curry incorrectly

Caller: (03) 9087 3646 We just had the call, which I didn't answer. Having looked at the comments, here its my experience. About 3 years ago we answered the call and agreed to a visit. Yes they were Indian, They were very helpful and had lovely manners. They found lots of lights that needed replacing which we hadn't even noticed. They ended up giving us about 30 globes, a chimney blocker, new shower head, etc. All they asked was that if anyone called to check up on them, we remember the number of globes they replaced. It is disappointing to hear all the negative racist and political comments.

This is a group calling on behalf of a programme for free energy saving devices. LED lighting, shower heads, door seals, chimney blockers, air conditioning units, electric hot water heaters, and something to install over your shower exhaust fan. This is a Victorian state programme/ inituative and the other thing they want to install is a device to monitor your energy home usage of each appliance. To me it is just a little bit too convenient as DA is going into an election. There is also a household $250 dollar bonus if you compare power companies. I will say that I have had a constant stream of calls from what appears to be a call centre. The right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing. I needed some light globes replaced in some downlights in my family room and kitchen with very high ceiling. The first guy said he did not have a ladder tall enough. He said he would inform the higher ups. The next two guys only had a standard ladder and did not know of the request for tall ladder. The fifth guy came with the right sized ladder. All of the people who attended my home were nice and professional. It is the folks in the call centers that are the issue with communication. They ask you how many light globes do you need, inside and outside. The electrician looks at what I aready have and says that l already have 1/2 of my lights bein LED. At the moment the energy price increases here in Victoria were below other states in regards to the recent power energy price increases. If you know what is going on in Europe and the US in regards to energy shortages. Governments can now turn down or off power remotely, In Colorado, air conditioning was turned down or even turned off if you were using too much power. I think that the major thing they want to put in is the power monitor. I keep telling them my energy company already sends me an email every week in regards to my power usage.

You can thank the Government for these Incentives which are opening the way for people to get hold of our data and cold call. The Government should advertise the incentivies, and if we are interested, we choose to call them.

Telemarketer. Hung up. Number shown as probable fraud. Was constantly engaged when I tried to ring back. My number is listed with the do not call register so I lodged an official complaint. Stop these bastards. Report them as often as they call you.

A new interpretation of the door to door salesman. Can be done via the phone now. Called on a saturday from a melbourne number, did not leave a message. If i want something i will go shopping so no need for people to call advertising their wares even if they are free to me i still pay out of my tax.

Caller: Scamming Indian call centre Indian call centre claiming to be from the Vic government Energy upgrades program . I checked the real government website where it states that Accredited providers are businesses approved to participate in the program. They and third parties operating on their behalf must not make false or misleading claims, or engage in misleading or deceptive conduct including:
claiming they work for the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, the Essential Services Commission or the Victorian Government; claiming the installation is mandatory under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program; claiming the consumer's telephone number was provided by the Victorian Government; providing incorrect contact details; making any other inaccurate representations that might induce the consumer to agree to an upgrade. Furthermore they are not permitted to call you after 6pm or before 8am, on Sundays or public holidays. The website also states that many scams involve these unaccredited 'providers' replacing your fittings with substandard and/or dangerous replacements rather than ones that meet Australian Safety standards, which accredited providers are mandated to do. There are many other requirements they need to meet to be accredited listed on the website: https://www.esc.vic.gov.au/victorian-energy-upgrades/energy-saving-information-consumers/your-consumer-rights-victorian-energy-upgrades-program and here: https://www.energy.vic.gov.au/for-households/victorian-energy-upgrades-for-households/about-the-veu-program The scammers calling me on this number rang at 7.45pm, refused to tell me which accredited provider they worked for and continued to claim they were from the government v.e.u program. They have rang me many times before on similar numbers with the same spiel.
