Avoid! Definite Scammers. This mob is ringing at least 2 times a day. Even if you call back on a private number - all you get is "muzak"! I've had about 30 calls now; How can I stop it????

When they start speaking to you, don't get angry or hang up … simply put the phone down (DON'T disconnect) on the table, and leave them to it. It drives them nuts because being telemarketers, they're paid only for the successful (money-milking) calls they make - it's quite amusing to hear them burbling on with their speel, and then saying "hello, hello, are you there? Are you there?" Eventually they hang up - if you do it each time they call, they appear to get the message, and stop calling. At least you get a laugh out of it at their expense, and your blood pressure doesn't go through the roof!! 😀

Hi Bob Just a bit I've information I found out. I've rung the do not call register about being called heaps of times every day by rude charity call centres and they said the Government put a clause in ONLY Charities and the Governement can call you if you are on the Do Not Call register. I said well may be you need a section on the form to ask do you want charities to call because they are now worse and ruder than scammers. The lady was going to put that in as a suggestion. This is why Charities are still calling you. I don't answer any more if I don't know the phone number I let it go to my answering machine. I have been on the do not call register since it started. Received a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent. Claimed to represent some web site conducting a survey about which charities I would like to donate to. Told her that I would not donate to any charity that used telemarketers and ignored the Do Not Call Register.

Indian gentleman - I think he started talking about a charity...? As always, I parked the phone in front of the TV speaker and continued with my interrupted dinner!

I have been receiving calls from (03) 9034 9793 for ages. Today I called back (03) 9034 9793 & was put straight onto hold music & no one answered the call. This has to be a scam/telemarketer. Don't waste your precious time!!!

Rang me at 7.40pm for second time - I missed the call in the afternoon. Tried to say they were doing survey for charitysurvey.com and would I help with a few minutes - I made them hang on while I checked the website - When I said "charitysurvey.com" didn't exist or the firm one charity did not exist as per google they said they wanted to talk to their supervisor - I waited and then was given a new website for authentication which was again wrong - I said sorry but you have no credentials to verify who you are so I am going to hang up and you have a nice evening and I hung up - I then rang the number and like others straight to music - hence the double check here - nearly as good as the insurance scammers or PC windows scammers - at least they are polite

I just let my 2 year old answer this one now - calls several times a day. He has a good gibberish chat with them :)

They rang again, 2nd August - I answered so I could get information. Again, only "0" showed up, not (03) or (02). Caller said he was ringing from New South Wales. they are ringing on behalf of Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, a charity. Telephone 1300 733 151. I obtained Licence No., ABN Number etc. so it appears to be quite genuine. Mystery solved - only it is a NSW number, not (03) Victoria/Tasmania.

I had calls on 26th and 29th July, but the (03) doesn't come up, only (0), which is odd. Particularly when it happened the second time. I now record such numbers in my landline phone under X_ and allocate a particular tune to them all, so I don't answer them in future. I could record this number but not a tune, because the prefix is incorrect. It could be (02) (07) (08) for all I know.

(Ref to 'A' 14 October 2016.) What's the auto reject list? Do you mean the DNC Register?
