Asking to do an analysis on your internet by having you download app Anydesk App. Then they ask you to accept their invite.
They also claim to give you a free $800 modem, and also ask you to only pay $4.99 for shipping and handling fees.

Caller: Scammer- Ahlron Marvin

Postcode- 2429

today a caller scammer pretends to talk with an accent, deceptivly claims to be from NBN( "who the fic")- surveying internet connectivity speeds and connection stability.

Claiming to be surveying upgrades on optic fibre lines, no written public notice.

Caller setup appointments times leaves return phone number ,caller Know's oodles of personal information, address , people's names details of property, individual names phone numbers and so very much more.

When questioned about verifying the with me there call circumstances ("very vague mind you"(I get a very puzzled informant who continues to push for connection information.

Refuse to give details until can confirm in writing a notice of upgrades for our area .

Frustrated Caller hung up , won't answer call backs.

Need to be reported as threatening line connectivity and optic fibre connections with porr connection and line speeds dies not offer a solution.

Fake NBN caller pretending to fix the internet on my elderly MIL's computer, phone and iPad, got access to her bank accounts and stole a substantial amount of money. Scammer somehow set up this phone number in MIL's phone contacts as "NBN", so she believed it was NBN calling.

Names given were Eric and supervisor David Williams (strong Indian accents but very good English) who claimed that they were from NBN and needed to check our modem speed. Walked us through some sort of online check, told us it needed to be replaced. Replacement would cost about $350 but we only needed to pay a delivery fee of $4.99. Asked for an online payment. Sounded very plausible up to that point.

When challenged couldn't tell me my ISP or connection type (FTTP / HFC / FTTN etc).
Asks you to run speedtest, claim they can increase your internet speeds then try to get remote control of your PC using "screenconnect". I refused then he started to switch to the CLSID scam - one of the oldest tricks in the book.

Caller: Caller claimed to be from NBN

Caller said they were from Technical Dept of NBN. Said his name was 'Peter Carter' and his supervisor was 'Adam Williams'. Gave contact number of (03) 9005 6762 but the contact number for NBN is 1800 687 626. NBN is also a wholesaler and does not talk direct to people in the suburbs - your current internet provider purchases from NBN and your provider then on-sells to you. Best to politely hang up.

Caller claimed to be from NBN Maintenance. Gave a fake name "Adam Williams" and a fake address in Melbourne, Victoria. I cut off the call before they could ask for money.
