got a call from this number today and hung up on them. I contacted ANZ directly on 131314 and asked them, They stated there is no number like that associated with ANZ.

Do not give any details to callers from this number.

It's ANZ, calling to check if a transfer I'd made earlier in the day was legit, because I'd only registered for online banking the day before. I'm a new ANZ customer, so this seems like a reasonable call to me.

No it is not dodgy. I called ANZ. Appears that is their generic switchboard number.

Called ANZ and they have no record of this number. There numbers start with 1300 or 1800 and they would leave a voicemail, text or email.

Phoned mobile twice without leaving message. Tried calling on landline and number no longer valid but refers to other number 1800 223 895. Recorded message wanting security number details. Without giving information, I got through to "David" (not an Indian!) who then said he'd try to link the number to the Department that was trying to contact me. He wanted my account number. Said I wasn't comfortable doing that so wanted my given name & surname so he could fast track to see who was trying to call me! Terminated the call. COMPLETELY DODGY.

Ignore this call. They will tell you the (03) 8693 0000 is no longer in use and should contact another number 1800 22 3895.
However, I called ANZ bank to check if this is legitimate number and I have been advised to ignore it because it's not from the ANZ BANK!

I got a call from this number few minutes ago. Indian voice asking my details in regards an application to something...

Receive multiple spam calls from this number every few weeks with a "special offer". Have repeatedly asked them to stop calling and am on the Do Not Call register but they don't care.

This is a legitimate ANZ Bank phone number.

This number comes up with the ANZ but its not the ANZ. I think its a scam andwhen you call back they have it redirected to an ANZ number to try get your security details while recording it. I work for the bank and had a call and at first they didnt even tell me where they were calling me from. I rang the bank through an internal number and no one had contacted me and they rang me again while i was on the phone and said it was the "chase" department which was next to the "mase" department. I stumBLED THEM BECAUSE I know our processes. When ANZ call you from outbound they wont ask credit card details etc.

It was "ANZ" but they said I had a business account with them... Number ending in XXXX.,They knew my husbands and my intitials. I don't bank with ANZ!! VERY DODGY

I didn 't recognize number so let it go to answering machine. They say it is ANZ but sounded dodgey to me. I don't bank with them so won't be calling them back.

If it's ANZ !!! why ask for a security number ? Most company's ask for full name and date of birth !! I have no way of verifying their credentials so obviously i won't give them mine !! As with others on this site the accent sounded Indian, Also the bank has my email address so why not send an email ????
