Caller: “Australian govt”

Yeah, I actually answered this call in time and an aussie female sounded quite surprised that I did and after she said “hello” I said “who’s this?”; I figure I caught her off guard as she stuttered to say, “I’m Ruby calling on behalf of the Australian Government”. So sketchy so hung up, blocked the number and came here.

2 days in a row. I did not answer. Have blocked the number now.

No message left 16/11/20 ... this same number has repeatedly called in the past. A big nuisance extremely unwelcome. From their history I will block them once and for all and comments here support that the number is indeed suspect ... possibly scams?????

3 calls in a few days. Didn't pick up any.

Also a text from a mobile this morning about winning $6.5 million pounds!!!

If it keeps up may block, but for now will ignore and hope they give up.

Caller: orc international (Australia Govt paid hacks or taxpayer funded telemarketing)

Picked up phone to see who was calling. Some gentleman said he was Nathan from ORC International (on behalf of the Australian Govt) doing a survey on travel. Would I have some time to answer some questions. Put phone down, basically let the caller hung up the call.

I kept getting called and hung up on by this number, I finally added them to my auto reject list, but I now get voicemail messages with indistinct talking in the background

Sent me SMS 5.04pm 15 June 2023. Same SMS I see sent to other people complaining. I never answer unidentified numbers. Won’t answer if they call. “This is Big Village (ABN 39 126 100 276). In the coming days we will call to see if you can take part in an important study on behalf of a government agency.”

Like other complaints. Big Village survey scam. Can Optus block this?

Called me to harass, plz avoid and block

block the scamers i did and it showed up on my phone that they tried to ring to day but the call was blocked

This number called and said was from Australian Govt doing research about tourism.
They also called I would have received a text message about this.
I also had a call a couple of days ago from a different number claiming the exact same thing.

Actually agree. I answered a call from this number a few months back. I was sceptical so they provided all the info so I could do more research including website, Australian contact numbers, verification via other govt websites etc. Seemed legit. Ended up doing a survey on Aust tourism, just Q&A over the phone. Took a bit longer because we had recently travelled within Aust. Lady was really nice, pretty sure it is legit! NB I am an ex fed govt employee. This was a few months back now, maybe even a year, so not sure if anything’s changed 🤔

Showing Melbourne number. I didn’t answer and no message left. Based on comments glad I didn’t answer. If ya don’t leave a message you can PO!

Caller: Survey company

Says they are calling from “Australian Government” for survey in tourism

It’s a company called Big Village (ABN 39 126 100 276) that seems to have gone into voluntary administration- so this may be a scam using a defunct company’s name

Keeps ringing me after hours and weekends. … have blocked now

They did send me a text a few days prior —- I just hung up.

Been receiving 03 calls with various numbers every day, sometimes lunch time or late afternoon. I am in a different State so block them
