Often call but do not ring for long. This one time I quickly answered. The response I received was "Oh sh*t!". I asked them to stop calling. I suspect they may get money when you ring back. Do not return calls.

Man answered claimed he was fundraising for police (I believe PCYC) however I will not give name address and credit card details over the phone so said no thanks. Looked up PCYC website, they state they DO NOT cold call people for fundraising so this IS an obvious SCAM. Apparently theyve had scams like this previously happen so just beware.

It's a scam. Do not reply, same as unknown overseas numbers that you may receive. The way the scam works is; the caller only rings for a short period with the pretense that you miss the call, so you call back and be placed on hold or be given some false information and be scammed for you credit details for some false charity. If you are placed on hold; the longer you are placed on hold the more you will be billed via your phone provider with the caller receiving the proceeds (how this works I don't know but the scammer knows otherwise they wouldn't keep trying). So, if you receive these calls that only ring for short periods, local or overseas, don't reply just block the number.

I've been caught once donating to PCYC. Have since blocked their calls. They phone regularly AND NEVER leave a message.

Tips for the unwary.....any # that doesn't have a ID tag IE: that you don't recognize, DON'T ANSWER, make then leave a message.....you can always call them back on your terms.

This number has called multiple times in the last few weeks. I never answer numbers I don't recognise - the identifier always shows up as "Unavailable" - and they never leave a message.

PCYC are a charity connected with Police services around Australia. This is not a SCAM and they help get our Youth off the streets and into meaningful programs. It was started by a woman many years ago and they need your vital funds. I have been donating through this number for MANY years without incident.

Scam caller spoke with foreign accent

Caller: Money collector on behalf of PCYC.

Call centre is collecting donations for the Police Citizens Youth Club. It is legit, but a bloody nuisance all the same. I have given in the past, but have now blocked the caller. I hope that block works.

They called, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message so its not important, I looked up this website and got my answer. Block the number. By the way I have nothing against the police force, they do their duty under precarious situations and have a lot of respect for them.

I personally do not answer call if the number is unknown but, this number just keeps on calling almost everyday and sometimes many times a day; very annoying. I have tried blocking the number but it does not work.
