This company is a scam, almost anyone can do up a web site and look like a "real company", this as a gross invasion of my privacy. This number should not be answered or any details given out. What happens is they get you personal details and "on sell" to a 3rd party normaly in India or Nigera. The one time my 10 year old daughter answered my phone because she thought she was helping me out, the thing on the other end of the phone was abusing my daughter and pressing her for information. When I got the phone a NON english speaking peice of trash was very hostile so I hung up. 69 times that day I had calls from the same number this went on to very earliy hours in the morning and I could not turn my phone off as I am on emergency call.
If the Australian goverment is approving this company then someone needs to be held accountable for the abusive action to a child.
DO NOT ANSWER OR USE ANY COMPANY THE USES THESE TYPE OF CALL CENTERS

My number is silent, the person said she was doing research on behalf of the government would not tell me which one, would not answer my questions so I just raised my voice and she hung up, pretty bad when these people call on a Sunday morning and disturb your day of rest should be laws against it. if its the government they can send me something official by post and then I can decide if I want to answer.

Claims to be from a government department but doesn't know any of my details and is asking for personal info. Pretty obvious scam

I have asked these people lots of times if they would please leave a msg and they wont. I have texted them back and asked if they would stop texting me if they are not willing to leave a msg because I will not pick up an unknown number. Guess what?? just got another missed call. It is an invasion of my privacy and they have no right to keep ringing, it is harrassment!

Totally agree, we have a silent number also and are also on the do not call register!! With so many scams these days just because they say they are working for the government, who knows who they are!!! Also the person asked if someone in the house had a birthday coming up soon - what has that got to do with anything??!!!!

I received this call and when I called back, the answering machine came up claiming to be a social research centre. Please block this number.

All you need to do is email this address and ask to be removed. privacy @ srcentre.com.au Not answering and then complaining because they keep trying is kinda counterproductive don't you think? When it's very easily fixed?

they aren't a scam, they're a research study group. they just rang me and someone called Lachlan told me he works for the federal goverment. they rang me yesterday but I didn't have my phone on me. I quickly thought it was a virus because as soon as he said that the phone started making this weird sounds almost as it was rewinding a video tape but it's not so. idk

I have never given out my private house number. (That's what mobiles are for.) But yet I get calls to my slient phone number, no messages are ever left and when you call back, nobody answers. The one time I was home (sick) when this number called I picked up after one ring and was hung up on.
How can I speak to a human about having my numbers removed from the call list.
Is there a website or number to txt 'STOP'???

if they have your unlisted number, its because you gave it to a third party under the proviso that it could be used for research purposes (knowingly or otherwise).
