These people are abusive in their misuse of the telephone. I just hung up for the fourth time this year.
I do not accept that they are legitimate.
They ask personal info which can be used in identity theft.
I recommend you say no thanks and hang up.

I missed their call, called back and received a courteous response from the operator who basically reiterated the 'Research' post of 22 Feb 17 above. Agreed to be called back, and was so within a couple of minutes - another very professional courteous encounter doing an important survey on policing. I'd encourage all to give these folks a fair shake.

Had received a few calls from this number & had not answered. After reading this site, when I got a call last night I did answer and spoke with a very well spoken (English) male person explained what the call was about and asked if I would like to participate. I explained that I would prefer not to and he accepted that. I then asked if he would have my number removed so that I did not get anymore calls from them. He replied that he would certainly arrange that for me and we said our good byes. By all means answer the call, and hopefully you will get a very helpful like I did. As the story on this site says, your number will continue to get calls from them if you, like me, choose to ignore them. I hope that this explanation is of help to others.

whether it is legit or not is irrelevant. In an age where people are harassed on the street in shopping centres, train stations anywhere for that matter to sign up save this or that participate in a survey that will only take up 5 minutes of your time, leave feed back after paying a bill the list goes on. Its called burn out and to dismiss people as rude or telling them to grow because they have burn out is an insult and shows imaturaty as anyone who is above the age of 4 will realise that no matter what we sign say or do nothing changes and the government don't listen or heed the advice of stats etc. It wont improve the road out the front bring rents down or improve services to your area.

To me, unsolicited call is unsolicited call is spam.

Just had the call like 2 am (overseas), waking me up. Thank you.

When they keep calling after 3 times saying I'm not interested, it's hard to remain polite :/ Might get myself a whistle!

Dear Research.,

What absolute arrogance! If people are on the DNCR, it means they do NOT wish to be called by YOU, as well as any other research, marketing, scammer, spammer organisations.

You comments are, at best tenuous.

As far as we are concerned, you have NO right to call. You've been calling a number belonging to a lady, for whom I provide care, for weeks. She refuses to answer and complains that your constant attempts to "get through" make her uneasy - and as such I have suggested she not answer your calls - ever.

Don't be going around bullying us, Research., your calls are not welcome. Cease and desist, else keep it up and I'll suggest to her that she litigate.

"Government sponsored" or not, it's time YOU realised that there is a reasonable limit for attempts to contact. Fifteen-plus calls IS over the top. Multiple sessions of calming her down because of your calls is just too much. "Government sponsored" or not, you should follow the DNCR and respect our right to you non-intrusion.

Honestly, Research., it's clear you don't get it. It's clear she does not wish to speak to you, politely or otherwise. It's clear you neither care about, nor understand the stress you place on people. CEASE and DESIST.

My Samsung s7 flashes on the screen "suspected spam" while it's ringing. Very convenient. I guess it runs the number through google.

Thank you for your lengthy explanation. I will now answer this call. Your very last ending comment did surprise me. Why answer any unknown call at home when you get plagued by advertising scams from every direction and get sick of private time interruptions?
