Same as everyone. I missed the call and rang back. I requested a report yesterday because it is recommended by the government you do this once per year.

They wanted to sell me a subscription which is normally $80 per year, but TODAY ONLY $60. This subscription would notify me of any identity theft and additions to the credit file. It is "for my protection". I feel a bit off about given them my personal details now knowing that this person on the phone already knew my name, address and phone number. How private are my financial details?

I said I don't know anything about their company and simply requested a credit report, and that I CERTAINLY wasn't going to give them any payment details.

She told me to "think about it" and said goodbye. I quickly asked the question how long it would take for me to receive the report.

She replied I would receive it in 10 days and hung up straigtaway without saying goodbye or asking if I had any further questions.

Very very rude, unprofessional, and a little scary too!

I too requested a 'FREE' credit report cause I'm curious and you are entitled to one a year. I had a missed call from this number. Veda should know better than to call an unsubscribed person especially who is on the DNC register. I have since blocked this number and should I have any more calls, will be reporting them.

Same deal as everyone else I applied for a free report from VEDA after an unexpected decline when I was trying to change energy providers...They are trying to get me to pay for the report which I believe I am entitled to because I've been declined for credit and have never requested credit before...I too asked for my report to be emailed to me and I requested that they did not pass my details onto other institutions...they ignored both requests

I received a phone call from this number today. I also applied to Veda for a free credit report but I specifically ticked that I wanted all correspondence via email. Urghhh!!!

I too recently applied for a free credit report from Veda and they've since tried contacting me twice. I answered the second call but was hung up on.

I have received the free report in past years without being contacted after applying. I now however understand that they're likely wanting to sell me the same annual service for a discounted subscription fee.

I shall add to the list of people who have applied for the free report (THREE TIMES NOW since the first four months ago) and they try to call me (after 5pm at work) when I have specifically told them I want communication by email only. And there is no way I have not provided them with enough information to process my request.
I worry about applying for credit again without knowing why it has been declined in the past. Every application can make you look worse - yet it does not seem possible to get the yearly free report we are entitled to!!!

Same deal with everyone here. Free credit report request to Veda after an unexpected decline from CitiBank and got the call. I was busy and now won't bother to call back. For the people wondering about if you actually get the report; yes you do. It has to be once a year free one or after a decline for a credit card/loan etc. I got it before, comes with an email and password.

Like everyone else, I too applied for the credit check through Veda before I recieved my hang up call. Again, something recommended by optus. Thankfully, I've read the comments here and will not be calling this number.
Pretty disappointing that this company is recommended and holds all our private details. Perhaps Optus gets a fee for every person they send to veda who purchases. I only contacted this agency as I was surprised to be declined optus post paid services as I believed I have good credit history.

I answered this call from (03) 8256 6715 and it was dead silent on the line. I was saying hello but no response, instead they hung up on me at 7 seconds.

Ditto the above - hang up call from Veda. When I called the number back to return the favour, the voicemail message indicated their office was closed, from 6pm onwards, prior to when they tried to call me...........

Justification is annoying

Hey Troy, so where is my report? Requested one over 2 weeks ago and it is still not here. Also, I have been reading all about credit reports on a very reputable website and it says you don't have a rating, just a list of transactions on your report. Will be interested to see if I do get a report and if I do get a rating as such. Also, how convenient that the so called website with your rating on it is down for maintenance.

you sound like you work for these guys and are justifying people's complaints. If Veda provided what they promised, then why are people complaining?

They don't hang up on you - it takes about 5 or so seconds for the call to start once you answer because it's an Overseas Call Centre.

You do actually receive the free report. Veda and other credit reporting agencies (such as Dun and Bradstreet) are highly regulated and required to supply a credit report when requested by law. From the middle of last year you have also had a credit score in Australia you can obtain this score instantly at https://www.getcreditscore.com.au/. Note the site is currently down for maintenance however lol.
