Scam call impersonating PayPal

Impersonating Telstra re: internet connection / data security

Caller: (03) 7076 1281 - PayPal Scam

Scan. Said they were from PayPal security.

No voicemail. Only a couple of digits different from multiple other “no voicemail was left” calls in the last couple of weeks

The caller quoted my mobile number and e-mail address to me and claimed that he was calling from Pay Pal headquarters in Sydney (although the number indicated it was from Melbourne) and claimed that someone had hacked my account. After I advised him that I did not have an account, I said that I would hang up and call my bank. He told me not to do that as soon as I hang up, the payment would disappear and I wouldn't get it back. I hung up, checked my bank records and found no transactions had been made as claimed.

Scam call claiming to be Amazon blocking a unauthorised transaction from California. Asked to cancel transaction via text message link.

Says they were calling from service NSW and someone was using my identity at Optus and it seemed suspicious.

No voicemail left, probably a scammer.
