Call from (03) 7053 1538 received at 11:02am AEST Monday 29/9/25. Long wait until someone answered. They didn't say a name or company just said to call upgrading electricity plan. They hung up in 49sec as I spoke a different language to them. My number is private and unlisted. This was a scam spam call. When dialled it back there was no answer.

Recorded message supposedly from ANZ warning about suspicious transaction. Asking to select 1 or 2 to authorise or block. I'm not a customer of ANZ.

Caller: SCAM..... RECORDED VOICE PRETENDING TO BE COMMONWEALTH BANK

SCAMMER -------Scam pre recorded message saying they were Commonwealth bank with an unauthorised transaction... wanting me to press either 1 or 2 (which i did not)....... then it just ended.. IT IS A SCAM TO FSIH FOR YOUR DETAILS...... I dont reply to anything or anyone that calls.... Just block the number.

Unknown number so didn't answer. Went to voicemail but no message left. Phone alerted as potential fraud. Blocking.

No message left - did not answer as I don’t know anyone in the(03) area code

Said he was from the PayPal security department!

I was called 3 hours ago by (03) 7053 1516, and when they hung up on me, I blocked it. They knew my name. (03) 7053 1538 called just now, and I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. It also had a Melbourne location like the other caller did. Spam call, probably from the same building.

Didn't know the number so did not answer. So many scammy calls lately.

Beware this number. They knew my name and the first 6 digits of my bank card plus the last 4. When I questioned them about scamming they correctly said “ma’am we haven’t asked for any personal details from you”. They then said an international transfer had been made to a Richard Kent in the US for $2040 and given I hadn’t flagged overseas travel, it was flagged by their fraud department. They then sent a swipe down message requesting I request a card block and then said they needed my 3 digit security code. I hung up and rang NAB to report the scam and block my card. They didn’t initially sound dodgy like these calls normally do so beware!

As others noted, claimed to be from Telstra technical department. They knew my first name.

Caller: Telstra

Call received stating telstra technical department - call centre background and when asked why calling hung up.

Caller: I don’t know

They knew my surname & had a very thick accent. I hung up & rang back - no company name or message
