Quite simply, nowhere on the FedEx site does it state the below.

Customers need to be aware that this is a fraudulent request and that this e-mail attachment contains a virus. If you have received one of these fraudulent e-mails, do not open the attachment, but delete the email immediately.

Nuisance Unsolicited Fraudulent Scammer falsely claiming to be FedEx. Woke me up to bother me while I was sleeping. Scammer demanded my personal details and payment to them over the phone. I have not ordered a package from anywhere at all and I am not waiting for a package at all so I have no idea why they are bothering to try and scam me nor why they even have my phone number when my phone is not a public number. I do not hand my phone number out to delivery services so they should not even have my phone number at all.

This is an Unsolicited Nuisance Scammer who woke me up while I was sleeping just then. GO AWAY! I do not hand my phone number out to anyone at all and it is a private number. These damn scammers should not even have my number at all as it is not a public number. I have not sent a package to anyone and I am not awaiting any package from anywhere at all either. To even use a Melbourne number is extremely low. How dare you scammers use Melbourne numbers and defile my birth state in my birth country. I hate you vile scammers. To hell with you. Be gone.

I believe this to be legitimate.

I was asked to provide invoice to an email with fedex.com domain for customs clearance.

Upon investigation by putting my tracking number into the fedex website I can confirm that my package is indeed on hold awaiting these documents.

This is actually Fedex International clearance. NOT a scam.
I was expecting a shipment from Europe with an import permit. Received a call for more clearance information. And this was followed up with an email (ending with @fedex.com) with details required.

I would think twice before dismissing this as a scam, particularly if you are actually expecting a parcel via FedEx. Spoof callers are of course possible. Use your judgement.

Definitely a scam. Claimed to be fedex. Said there was a delay in customs and needed me to provide details of the delivery to them. Provided an email address which is definitely for scam. Also got a text message from fedex-exp. I had separately got a text from the real fedex number a day before. Somehow these people are intercepting FedEx tracking numbers. If you are receiving a package or parcel you don’t need to provide this information. It is provided to FedEx by the sender.

100000% scam. This scammer is relentless. They emailed me, text me and then called me saying I needed to pay import taxes on Fedex parcel. They are very good at this, they have all the correct numbers and designs on their communication to scam you. I replied telling them I had reported them to the FedEx fraud department and to the Aus government fraud department and they got catty. My parcel arrived in 2 days time without an issue.

Not a Scam, the tracking number was for a set of books ordered from amazon, They required my full name for customs clearance. When I checked amazon the order only had my first name attached and the tracking number was the same with both fedex and amazon delivery info matched up.

This is DEFINITELY FexEx. I was waiting for a delivery and it is held in customs for clearance. They details some very specific things that are only written on the box, there is no way anyboxy except this caller would have known the information.

Its LEGITIMATE

Caller: FedEx scammer

This scammer must be inside FedEx or intercepting FedEx delivery details. I ordered a small, very low value ordinary item online which was then was dispatched via FedEx from Hong Kong. Coincidentally I then received a brief missed phonecall from this number (03) 7019 5541 from Melbourne (spoofed?). Plus I then got a Text Message from so-called "Fedex-Exp" starting with "GOOD DAY" in capital letters - looked fishy so deleted it from phone. The scammers are very clever to impersonate fedex, when they know a fedex delivery is on the way.

You’re responsible for duties in Australia. If your item was above certain value, then FedEx Wi be doing Clarence including payment from you.

I called fedex 13 26 10 and they gave me the 1800 111 112 number. It didn’t work, so I called fedex back and told them to get their customs dept to call me regarding this fee. My item cost $3.5k and I was aware I would have to pay aus GST coming into Australia. This number called me and when I asked sent me a breakdown of of the costs. It’s a very suspicious however I contacted fedex directly so I’m so confused.

Caller: FedEx impersonation scam

THIS IS A SCAM. Do not respond to the caller, do not engage.

Recently ordered a product from a known US/UK retailer mpb.com. They sent the package with tracking number and invoice. 2 days later, I receive text message from 'Fedex-Exp' with the following (non reply) message:
"Fedex Tracking# [correct tracking number] requires your ITEMIZED COMMERCIAL/SUPPLIER'S INVOICE for Customs Clearance.
Please email paperwork to 5545113 @ fedex.com and aucdndoc @ fedex.com with the tracking number as subject to avoid return or call us at 1800 111 112 opt2
Thank you."

This number does not match what is on FedEx's website support page, and the emails seemed too random to be official. Reverse search on the phone number showed 50/50 split on people calling it scam, so I didn't do anything. Notably the tracking number was the exact same which threw me off for a second, but the supplier's invoice is something you only complete if you are SENDING an item, not RECEIVING. The package being delayed for transfer and the matching tracking number almost got me to respond, but after waiting a day the package was moving again, and was going to Alaska, then China, then Singapore as of right now (2 days later).

What confirmed my suspicions was a follow up call from Melbourne (could be spoofed?) from this random number which said the same as the text message only including that my package was from mpb.com. Seems this is very common, but wasn't blocked by my messages as spam.

Do not engage with these scammers, it just marks your phone number, email as active for them. If you have any doubts over scam calls, go to the actual website and not the phone numbers or links provided in the suspect text messages. I would also be emailing the actual fedex support website to notify them that they have system leaks or exposure of customer data which allows these scammers to try and steal your parcels and money.
