Caller: NAB Fraud department

This is legitimately NAB Fraud department - obviously these days you think all calls as scammers, but once you listen to what they say and ask you will realise this is really NAB phoning.

How can it legit be NAB fraud department when I don’t have a NAB account?

Legit call from ubank/NAB as I called them earlier to unblock my account but got disconnected.

Claimed to be NAB fraud, said they need to ID me first, I said I'm not comfortable giving details over the phone and they hung up.

Called NAB directly and it is a scam. Account was not blocked and there were no issues with my account.

It's a NAB fraud check. I received a call to confirm that I had made a large payment to a new payee. Beware, however, that scammers may spoof calls from this number also. If in doubt hang up and look up the correct number on their website.

Number is legitimate. I rang NAB Customer Support. They confirmed that I had received a call from NAB Fraud at that time.

Recieved a message presumably from NAB informing me that my card had been compromised and that they had put a hold on my account. Rang the number given and it all sounded legit until a lot of static happened and I could not hear, so told them I was hanging up and that they could ring me back. This number then rang me back (on my mobile) only for no one to answer. I had originally called on my landline so how did they get my mobile number??

NAB locks my account regularly to prevent me from sending money elsewhere. They use this phone number to pretend there's a misunderstanding and they thought I was being scammed. Despite numerous conversations and written complaints over the years, the practice continues. They apologise but the reality is that they expect me to explain my spending so I guess they think older people are stupid.

I received a voice message alleging to be from NAB about a card I had cancelled. I assumed it was a scam call and deleted it. Then I got a text telling me to contact NAB quoting 'fraud assist'. I did not call the number included in the text but checked on the NAB website that it was the correct number and dialled it direct. After over an hour they finally answered and I really hope it was legit. I had challenged the charges on the card from the time I had reported it lost and cancelled it. They wanted to clarify if it had been 'stolen' or 'lost'. I'm just guessing here that if it was 'stolen' I might get my money back, if it had been 'lost' - I might not. Anyway, that was ALL they wanted to know after all that hassle. Apparently the people in charge of reviewing the claim will get back to me shortly. So, it might have been a scam, it might not. Who knows?
