Google Maps confirming your Google maps data.
Once you have confirmed it, your business becomes a "verified local business" on google maps.
I know this as once I confirmed, I got the nice little "verified local business" logo on my google maps listing :-)

same thing here - they said google maps and i hung up on them
google maps would not ring every business in the world to check the address out.

Same. Same.
Claims to be from Google. I played with this one, asked him out on a date.
He hung up after I started to get "specific" if you know what I mean.

He called back an hour ago but I missed the call.

Wondering if he changed his mind.

I'm assuming this is another prank call from scammers who will typically forward the call to a premium number if you answer it.
Sick of these scumbags!

Just received a call from "Google Maps" asking if the business was still at the listed address... I asked why would they want to verify that when it was done only a few months ago, she couldn't give me a decent answer. Very bizarre.

Had a call from some guy with an accent (he only spoke after a long pause which usually indicates o/seas origin) claiming to be from Google Maps & wanting to update my address. I simply said I'm not interested, & hung up. Who do they think they're kidding - no-one believes their rubbish, so why don't they just give it up???

Lady with Indian accent asked if I was Herbalife Australia - I told her this is a newly assigned mobile number and demanded to know WHO IS THIS, ARE YOU f*ckING WITH ME? As ex husband of 20+ years has caused me so much drama, I figure now he knows I have this new number he's listed me for prank and telemarketing calls???

2nd time in a week I have been rang - was Asian man first time - Asian lady this time - she said she was from Google Maps Quality Control. Had me listed under some completely obscure business listing - I asked where did she get that information she said 'sorry my bad I thought you said Electrical Systems' - then she went silent but stayed on phone for 8 minutes before I hung up - so don't know what is going on here?? Both calls happened a couple of days after being contacted by Yellow Pages - who also have me listed incorrectly online - but not in actual book- connection here? Has Yellow Pages online been hacked???

I had a call also saying they were from google maps. SI asked where she was calling from she said India. I have a for sale item listed I am wondering if it has anything to do with that.

Two missed calls from this number again today, with 2 blank voicemails left. If it Google maps, why do they need the address of a mobile number?

I have had the same call from the same number three times in the last three weeks. Always the same story, The Asian voice wants to confirm my street address on Google maps. I wish he would go away.

From Google Map. They have called numerous times in December. Yesterday, they called & today again. How many times do you need to call to confirm our address? Update your system Google.
