Caller: Scam - Car Removal / Recyclers In my case, it is coincidental that I went to the NSW Services - www.service.nsw.gov.au office to obtain a reprint of my car registration renewal, for pink slip purposes, as the copy in the mail arrived late this year.
This coincidence of circumstances suggests two possibilities:-
One, that, my mail has been intercepted and I am a victim of mail tampering. If this is the case then the person doing this may be in the Hurstville area assuming that this is not occurring near the source where the, via mail, copy is being printed.
Two, the NSW Services or other computer system that is being utilised by what was known as the RTA - Roads and Traffic Authority, and now known as, New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services, is being taped and information is finding it's way to this scammer. If this happens to be the case, the profile suggests that this person may have an involvement with the tow truck industry as tow truck drivers have the ability to identify how long a vehicle has been out of registration from their mobile phones.
Also as a side note:- My number happens to be on a list that is associated with the car dealership industry. And, consequently, I get a lot of calls from car associated vendors looking to provide product and services.
If your circumstances are similar or same, then reply to this posting, indicating your suburb, if your car registration is near due for renewal, if you have seen irregularities in your mail, and, if you have been getting a lot of calls associated with the car dealership industry.

I put in a complaint to ACMA about this number and Unique car removals. The guy from Unique called me up and was apologetic. It turns out that the user of this number does not represent https://uniquecarremoval.com.au/about-us/. So this number is spam, but it would appear it is not related to the melbourne based Unique Car rentals business.

Anonymous Posted on February 16, 2024 Caller type: Unknown Location: Australia My first missed call from this number was 1.5hrs before I had my car booked for a pink slip inspection at my local Jax Tyres in Sydney.
Now (16.02.24) 10 days later I had a 2nd missed call from same number; neither call did I answer and caller left no message.
I returned today’s call and a man with accent answered (not Indian, possibly Arabic). I asked why he called and he was from Sydney Car Removals then asked if I had any old cars/parts etc I want removed for cash. I asked where he got my number from and he said from a website called Cash for Cars
Reading back through past posts it is alarming to read how many other people are in someway connecting similar calls to having their car serviced or similar and it will be interesting to see whether future posts and responses confirm what can be my only conclusion which for now, I’ll keep to myself.
