Indian accent claiming to be from Telstra. Said they were detecting multiple errors in my internet connection and asked if I was experiencing the same. I said “No, I haven’t” and they hung up immediately on hearing the word “no” - didn’t even wait for me to finish my sentence. Gave benefit of doubt and called back, thinking perhaps it was a bad line but couldn’t connect - the number doesn’t ring, it gives a strange tone, doesn’t sound like an engaged tone either, it’s just an extended long beep sound. If this was Telstra, it’s very poor customer experience.

It would be nice when they tried to scam you if they could get someone who could speak English. I don’t speak Indian

bear in mind. NBN is a wholesale provider , Legally they can not contact a retail customer , except via your service provider

Said they were from the NBN, then Telstra, then refused to provide their website address so I could verify the company.

Caller: (02) 9070 9614 Claiming to be telstra, easiest way to find out, and end the conversation then and there, is (if they’re are or are not)….
One (1) question, and ALWAYS even when speaking to telstra when you yourself have called them,
- ASK FOR THEIR (THE INDIVIDUAL’S) ‘D’ number,
IF it is actually telstra, and you know because you’ve called them, a telstra employee, MUST, WHEN REQUESTED PROVIDE IT,
It’s not their in house employee number, it’s that individual’s ID number that they write down numerous times a day, on clients accounts to let the next employee, or telstra management, to let them know who it is SIX DIGITS!!! No more, no less,
If they’ve been an employee for a very very long time, they may say ‘C’ 123 456, but you’ll usually get now, anywhere from the first digit of a D number a 3 or a 9,
ALL spam hang up immediately, However,’even when talking to the real deal, always ask for it, for your records, as often, nothing is written in ‘Notes’ or ‘Interactions’ - also always ask if what you’ve been speaking/spoken about, is being recorded in BOTH, the wording makes it feel same same but different, but they’re vastly different That is all for the mean time, Ghost Beard (who’s anonymously synonymous or synonymously anonymous..
Peace out 🏴☠️🏴☠️ (and keep your pen ready to write the SIX (6) digits, that MUST BE GIVEN, under ANY circumstance, they cannot refuse it or expect a hang up
