This number is left on messages purporting to be from the ATO threatening the public with arrest due to a tax debt. It is answered by an accented mail voice 'Tax Department' who then refuse to identify themselves or the department they claim to represent

Male speaker with Latino/American accent left a automated message on answering machine. Speaker mentioned "Isabella Lawyers" in introduction, gave his spiel about issuing an arrest warrant to this phone number and finally asked that either I ring (02) 8518 1291 to discuss my options or arrange for my lawyers to ring this number ! Had a phone call some weeks previously asking who it was at this phone number that had been in a car accident in the past few weeks.

This is a Voice over Internet Protocol number and the VoIP provider is www.symbionetworks.com and you can check for a numbers VoIP provider here https://www.thenumberingsystem.com.au/#/number-register/search . I suggest we all call Symbio Networks each time we get a scam call from one of their VoIP customers and then maybe Symbio Networks will do something. Symbio Networks number is 1300 789 653. You must realize that Symbio Networks gets paid by the scammers that use their service and this is the reason Symbio Networks appear to be providing a safe haven to scammers.

when they called me i answered and they said that they were from the ATO and i said give me your number and they said f off. they also spoke in a foreign accent

i wish these dishonest people could be stopped from harrassi ng innocent people why don't they get an honest job like everyone else

Came back from visiting daughter for 2 weeks to have a FORIEGNER on this number saying A warrant has been issued for my arrest regarding tax evasion. No name ID except from Tax Department, to please call this number. Had a similar call early in the year from a similar number stating he was from the Tax Office. Have great pleasure in blocking this number too.

It's definitely a scam... Since they didn't identify themselves and left the same message on my answering machine two minutes apart.... Will be calling my phone company to block the number...

This number was given as the contact for ATO. They contacted me with message stating it was a pre-recorded message, male accented voice, claims tax fraud and no tax returns lodged. I did not say a word to them, just listened then hung up and rang the ATO Scam hotline straight away. no even going to bother calling this number!! These lowlife don't scare me and will not get a brass razoo from me - beware everyone!!

leave message suggesting I've evaded tax and there is a warrant for my arrest. Tells me to call the stated number; presumably to coax me out of some $$. Definitely scam. No identification of who they are or any suggestion that they know who I am.

Male speaker said this was an automated call from the Tax Office. Said letters had gone unanswered, tax return overdue, legal action to follow, etc. Return call to that number resulted in a message from Optus saying that the number had been disconnected. Tried ATO scam line 1800 008 540, 4 minute wait after the menu options. Couldn't wait!
