Received a message on answering machine : pensions have gone up, if you recieve a pension call Centrelink on (02) 8488 1031. Sounded strange. So I called Centrelink, but I called their regular number. Centrelink officer said that they would never leave such a message. So people, do not call the scammers!

I received a message asking me to call about my pension....I don't have one, but was a nominee for my parents, now deceased....so I didn't call back. My mother in law got a message today, returned the call ... was a bit suspicious so didn't offer any info, but was told to go to her Centrelink office to get her cheque for backpayments (2,000 +) and confirm her identity to receive her new payment amount. They even gave her an appointment time.

Caller: Scammers This is a Voice over Internet Protocol number and the VoIP provider is www.symbionetworks.com and you can check for a numbers VoIP provider here https://www.thenumberingsystem.com.au/#/number-register/search . I suggest we all call Symbio Networks each time we get a scam call from one of their VoIP customers and then maybe Symbio Networks will do something. Symbio Networks number is 1300 789 653. You must realize that Symbio Networks gets paid by the scammers that use their service and this is the reason Symbio Networks appear to be providing a safe haven to scammers.

Had a missed call from this number. I called back and was answered by a man with an Indian accent, wanting to know my pension details.. funnily enough, I don't receive any kind of pension. Upon telling the man this, he immediately hung up. SCAM!!

They are checking to see if you are still home. They know your movements and confirm by calling with an obscure number.

When someone called my unlisted home number, I know he/she is using stolen data. No need to answer such call especially there have been too many complaints listed in this page...

I today joined the list of people receiving a call from this number. I didn't ring back after them leaving a message. I know Centrelink either use email, if you're registered with Centrelink for that, or by mail. I live in Victoria and will not answer any number from interstate. If they are fair dinkum they will ring back and leave a message.
