Had a call from this number, about application number 080456, asked to call it back and quote the reference number. Clearly targeting the elderly.

Caller: Scam about Centrelink payments

We have sent you several letters and you have not responded! (Nice try wank as contact is via My Gov) The matter has been transferred to Canberra! (Since when would the Government be so kind as to back pay and give an increase in pension rate?) The reference number is ??????????. (By this time the recording started to sound somewhat foreign in accent) Call this number as you will get an increase in your pension payment! (Yeah right. I think I will just go outside and see if it's raining gold bars)

Caller: He called himself David - don't think that's his real name.....

This scumbag scammed $350 from my 77 year old mother using scare tactics related to her centrelink aged pension. What a quality human being.

Centrelink Scammer. Same as everybody else has reported. I just don't answer the phone anymore. I monitor the call as my answering system is recording. If it's someone I know, then I pick up.

Caller: Centrelink Scam

Parents are on the 'do not call list' and have so far been called two days in a row, exact same message, just different times of the day.

Same as previous posters re Centrelink scam recorded msg. I use MyGov site so knew I had no outstanding back payments. Claimed my pension was increased, when I knew there was a reduction due to changed circumstances.

Seems to be a scam as I received the same call and my application number was coincidentally the same 08080456 as the one others here received so we must be related LOL?

Caller: David Miller advising he was from Centrelink

Recorded message advising they had been trying to contact me. Quoted badge number 417J2741 - advising the ATO had issued affadavits against me for unpaid taxes. Same story about the call was about my benefits from Centrelink (which I don't get!) Didn't get the chance to ask me for money as I told him it was bulls**t and hang up.

Caller: Scammers

Got a call from an automated female voice on Thursday 15/11/18 at 16.40 stating they are from Centrelink. She said they had several attemps to get in touch with me relating to pension details. They gave me an application number: 080456, then said to phone Centrelink in Canberra on (02) 8317 1419. THIS IS A SCAM...do not phone the number or give any details. Why do these calls get through when listed on the "Do Not Call List" ??? Fed up with these scams. Come on people, do not fall for their scams. Maybe they might give up if we are more vigilant and stop giving into them.

Caller: Coles worker i suspect

Coles has known about this for some time & refuse to do anything, Blame Coles , they would not cancel the card before it was emptied, they refuse to exchange it for same or similar card after they know some poor old pensioner stands to loose the card value. I hold Wesfarmers responsible for delivering the trusting old people into this scam. Why can't police trace the number & tap to catch these Indians. Like I said, Coles Group are directly responsible for allowing it, very suspicious.

This number (02) 8317 1419 called alleging they were Centrelink (Male voice, sounding of Indian descent) and demanding immediate payment.

Sounded very convincing that I had not responded to their calls and Centrelink letter about my pension. Left a reference number and a number to call, which did not answer. Checked the reverse number and found it to be dodgy.

I’m very pissed off with this caller. They tried to get my old grandad to call and quote a number which was complete bullsh*t just to try and get his bank details. I can’t believe someone would do that to an old person. If I find out who it is they are going to f*cking jail and I’ll make sure of it.

A call claiming to be from Centrelink (with an Indian accent) left on voice message on my landline then I dialled the phone number (02) 8317 1419 (Canberra?) on 26/09/2018. They stated that their call related to back payments of CentreLik and an increase in my benefits. As I had not responded they advised the case had been transferred to Canberra Centrelink, and quoted my application no. 080456 to use when contacting Canberra office.
sick of these calls, get scam ones stating they are from ATO, others saying they are from Telstra, NBN and numerous others, where do they get our phone #'s from, we are registered with the do not call REGISTER, seems to be a waste of time.
