Caller: Amazon Definitely Amazon. Got a call and the guy was outside with my package. The gate was closed and he didn’t want to leave it unattended. 8:30pm on a Tuesday night in Brisbane. Unsure as to why it shows a Sydney number but it was legit.

Caller: NOT Amazon!!!! Okay. So had two of these calls. Looked it up here. Called the number. Seems like it's Amazon. BUT it's NOT!! Amazon have no idea what this is about. Amazon confirmed they don't use this number.
It seems apparent the scammers are on here leaving messages trying to convince people it's legitimate. When it's definitely not. You think Amazon would leave a voice message if it was actually Amazon. Anyway, what they told me at Amazon is that if they contact you it will be by email. Not a call like this. Think about it. It doesn't make sense anyway. Numbers don't get routed to a Sydney exchange and then to you. If they did call it would be the guy right there with his mobile phone. Don't fall for this. I am leaving this message as a community service.
If you go to the Amazon website you can contact them on chat or get them to call you back. Confirm it yourself. Don't fall for any of this. Okay. Have a good day.

Caller: Amazon Legitimate Amazon call in august 2024.
Yes, was 02 area code- and I am in 03. So don't worry, it's Amazon and about to deliver. Which can be, any parcel their network accepted, not just purchases from Amazon direct (see other comments regarding eBay).
Delivery driver was at the doorstep, and was making sure I was able to accept delivery, as it required a code for security.
He'd knocked and I was on the way when phone rang. So down to the second. Not a scam.

Caller: (02) 8294 8295 Guy rang saying he was from Amazon and had a package. He started rattling off all sorts of streets and suburbs. I spelled my (5 letter) address phonetically but he said he didn't understand but said he would try. I checked the number and it said Amazon. I checked Amazon and have nothing on order. Guy rang back and we danced the tango again. He wanted me to txt the address but I refused. In the end he gave me his nr : 0434 100 639 and I texted my street name only. Never heard from him again. All the Amazon packages I ever received (and that's a lot) have always been clearly addressed.
