Caller: Its Telstra on (02) 8290 5000

They ring you on this number - you call back and get an message that "they have tried to contact you and will probably call again - else you ring them" - but which department??"

They are using this number (02) 8290 5000 partly it seems to respond to their other automated message which they may stick on your landline so that everytime you pick up your landline to make a call, you first get a message saying " Its Telstra and we have important info for the lessee of theis phone and to call them on 1800 050 022" - THEN you are connected to the number you called.!! I have started getting this message 5 MONTHS before I am due to have my phone cancelled due to the NBN taking over in Sept 2019

Calling that 1800 number gets you through to their NBN sales team - amazing!. If you get this happening to you, call them on that 1800 number and INSIST they REMOVE this message from your phone as it pure harrassment... using a phone service to harrass a person is a criminal offence.

THERE IS NO POINT calling the normal Telstra numbers because 99% of the staff on those call centre numbers either know nothing about the 1800 number or if they do, they have no idea how to remove it. You MUST ring that 1800 number to have that automated message removed

Caller: from Telstra

Last week, i received a call and we were talking about NBN. Our conversation was abruptly disconnected with nothing to deal on. Few days later I received a letter from TELSTRA, actually a bill which requiring me to pay a huge amount than my usual charge. I opened & connected to Telstra on line; chatted with a lady but to no avail. Then I connected again on line with the same result. I was furious and connected again for the third time. Here, I emphatically told them that I am not going to pay this Bill until you put it back on my normal monthly payment! That's it. She rectified everything & back to my normal phone bill.

I received a call from (02) 8290 5000 today at 10:52am. The woman asked me if I had connected my NBN modem. When I asked her to prove she was Telstra she became quite irate. I asked her to provide some of my Telstra details which made her quite aggressive. She said she needed a yes or no answer. She kept talking over me when I was trying to tell her that I believed it was a SCAM call. In the end I told her that I didn't have a modem. The other thing that has worried me is that Telstra has started sending me emails, including a copy of my bill to an email account that I have never provided to them. Please explain how this could happen.

She said she was from Telstra and that Im dew for an update phone and she could give me a better plan than I already have $50 cheaper.. by putting me on a different plan...
Only one problem with that.. I'm on a business plan and my husband is the contact person and he has not been approached by Telstra...
She said her name is Jennifer and she has an American accent...
Just to clarify.. I can't just leave the plan I'm on with out my husband's signature because I'm on his plan..
