Telstra re NBN appointments to fit equipment Yep. Telstra (India) calling to confirm your appointment for a tech to visit and install your NBN modem.....even though you specifically asked for the modem to be mailed-out to you for self-installation. These guys are scammers. I confirmed with telstra it is not their phone number and no one has been ringing me from Telstra. I have now had 6 calls in total, the first two being my home phone so i had telstra block the number, now they are ringing my mobile number. They want to talk about my nbn order i have placed. Well hello d*ckheads i already have nbn. Beware (02) 8260 0000 This is actually the Telstra NBN connection team. They follow up on transition/new orders if the customer has not connected their modem up yet. I had the same call today and asked for the person's staff ID. I then promptly searched her ID via our internal links and confirmed her details. The landline number provided is the Telstra NBN Case Management team. You should not be worried about this call, ask for their D Number (staff ID) or a interaction reference number so you can call 13 22 00 if you are afraid to verify yourself. called four times within a few minutes today. Did not leave any message on answer machine. Bloody nuisance. it's the NBN people from Telstra calling about technician appointments It's a Telstra NBN account manager. I have been talking to them off and on for nearly a week I have just had NBN installed yesterday. Got a call from this number twice today and after doing a reverse check on the number decided to answer second time. An Indian woman told me she was from Telstra and wanted to verify my details so she could finalise my NBN connection. Suspicion is my middle name, so I told her my NBN was connected and working just fine thank you and I was not going to give a cold caller my details. She got a bit flustered at my refusal and questions and advised me to call 1800 834 273 option 0 instead. I haven't done this. Not sure if its a scam but I will nbot give details over the phone unless I make the call myself. Had a call from a gentleman with a strong Indian accent on this number wanting to talk to "Mr Robert" to discuss my NBN appointment. As we didn't have any NBN appointment and with the caller not knowing my correct name I presumed that it was one of the Indian scam callers that we regularly get wanting to "discuss our Telstra internet service", so hung up on him. From other reports it would appear that the number is in fact a legit Telstra number but I am at a loss to understand why Telstra would continue to use an Indian call centre to make this type of call. telstra nbn...all good Does not provide any Telstra ID.
Should not need your security ID when they ring you.
It's Telstra, regarding an NBN connection that you have already ordered or might be waiting for updates on. Caller: (02) 8260 0000
I am about to install the modem which arrived today from Telstra (or their supplier). This afternoon received a call from this number claiming to be from Telstra quoting my name and asking if my "hardware" had arrived, and if it was working OK. Told her it had arrived but I had not set it up yet. Then was asked for my birthdate. At that point I told them that they had called me and should not have to check my identity. Told her that this was 99% likely to be a scam, and that it was indeed genuine, I would be prepared to suffer the consequences and ended the call. Rang the number back and git the familiar "Thank you for calling Telstra" message then ended the call. I expect that anyone could record Telstra's greeting and then use it for nefarious purposes. Looks like a total scam.
Telstra NBN complaints team being stalker-ish and constantly calling. Telstra follow up on nbn fault. Not spam No message left. Caller: (02) 8260 0000
I, like many other people, were given the 1800 834 273 number to ring regarding my NBN connection (which has already been done, incidentally!). Even though there are messages on here stating that the numbers are legitimate Telstra numbers, you'd have to be a bit thick to believe that! What's to stop the scammers themselves from getting on this site and making out that they're ordinary customers (in order to convince other customers that it's OK to call the scammer's own number)?
If they ARE legitimate Telstra employees, when is Telstra going to get it through their thick heads that it's counter-productive for them to be using Asian-accented callers, who then ask you to supply your date-of-birth before they'll discuss anything with you?
Telstra calling as bout NBN connection. Caller: telstra
Been dealing with these people for 4 months now trying to get my nbn sorted out This is telstra case management number for complaints regarding telstra services from indian call centre
Caller: Someone claiming to be Telstra
I have left Telstra and I'm pretty annoyed that they contacted me talking about completing my NBN connection. They must know I am with another provider and on NBN because I no longer have a landline service with them.
This is a legitimate Australian company, but still a scam.
