From recent comments people have been saying its agl, funny, this is 02 Sydney,AGL is based in Melbourne. This could be a scam cos I was just on agl website so someone is tracking my phone

I don't pay for energy. I keep getting calls from this number though.

i think its a scam because i looked up agl anytime... not a thing and only number for agl is 131245

AGL calling about bills that are only overdue by a month. Will be moving elsewhere . AGL has become completely expensive.

My electricity bill was due yesterday, I paid but clearly it hasn’t come across yet as I got a rude call demanding I repay the bill I just paid! Changing electricity providers because of this call, I explained that I have paid and have proof even offering to email it across but they refused to provide me an email address and hanged up.

When answered put straight on hold. No identifying details in the message so I hung up and blocked.

Called and hang up the phone when I answered

Same as all these other comments - says AGL - very insistent on obtaining my date of birth and 'account details' - total scammer - block them and remember to NEVER give up your details to a cold caller EVER.

I’m sick and tired of calls from this number. The caller is from AGL telling me I have a bill overdue. Asks for personal info to confirm my identity. I refused to do so and told him this is exactly the tactic scammers take. He got short with me and said “we’ll you call AGL yourself” and he hung up on me. I rang AGL and told them I don’t appreciate these calls and this behaviour and I will not give personal details to this person. I know he’s from AGL but he’s difficult to understand, his phone line is bad, background noise is loud so it sounds dodgy and it’s unprofessional to hang up on a customer. For goodness sake, call your customers from a number that shows up as AGL or something. Changing my energy provider asap. I’m tired of this crap.

Wanted me to pay over the phone when I refused he challenged me so I told him I don’t know who he is and where he’s from so I will pay my account myself and no way will I be giving him my personal details over the phone - he hung up!! Got another call from the same number two hours later!! Didn’t answer - blocking now!!

Said they were AGL, and I had overdue amount owing ( which I dont) , they wanted my credit card details, very pushy and very hard to understand accent.
I Laughed and hung up.
I Rang AGL and checked,
No AGL haven't called me and No I don't owe any money.
DO NOT give Any Info To These Crooks, if yr unsure call AGL yourself and sort it out.

I block this number a week ago, they have tried to call 8 times since then. If it were truly AGL I would have received a call from another number

Noted a delay in their speaking after I answered. They claim to be from AGL and like one of the other comments, they had very poor spoken English.

Interestingly - if you have a slightly overdue bill this is not how they contact you. The call will have an automated clearly spoken message or you will be sent a direct text asking, for example if you have accidently overpaid your electricity account instead of paying your gas etc and they will rectify it.

So don't get sucked into this caller.

Asked re property in hurstville, we work as a real estate agency so we have a hundred of them. i asked to clarify the address. they said they need my name which to i replied what address. they said they need more information to clarify who i am to which i hung up. BIG OLD SCAMMER

I HAD THE SAME, THJEY ASKED ME TO VERIFY MY DETAILS, I SAID BUT YOU CALLED ME! YOU HAVE MY DETAILS. SO WHAT IS THE CALL ABOUT I ASKED. THEY SAID THEY COULDNT DISCUS UNTILL THEY VERIFIED THEY WERE TALKING TO THE ACCOUNT HOLDER. I SAID I HAVE 3 ACCOUNTS WITH AGL CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME THE ACCOUNT NUMBER THIS CALL IS ABOUT. GUESS WHAT? THEY HUNG UP ..

They called, claiming to be from AGL - asked for personal identifying information - I refused and she hung up.
Called the real AGL and asked and they confirmed it was a scam and no person from AGL was trying to call me.

asked for name and DOB trying to verify and then email. and i asked for the reason of the call which he said he can't reveal as i am not verified. I asked how can i verify you as AGL and he couldn't either. I ask him to send me email from agl to my email.
