Assuming it's agl Robodebt after looking at previous entries, after a barely overdew bill, like a month over, paid most of last bill off, I'll be talking my business elsewhere, something I should have done a long time ago

Repeatedly calls and does not leave a message. Only scammers, thugs and other filth who are not on legitimate business engage in these behaviours. If this is AGL, as suggested by other posts, they really need to improve their standard of communication. This is reprehensible.

Same experience as others above: call received about AGL Gas account. I mistakenly took the call when I was 'muted' on a teams meeting. When I told them I couldn't handle the call right now and to call back later, the caller became aggressive and very rude. He would not listen. Usual 'have to do it now' tactics. I told the guy I would sort it later. He got very rude so I hung up. I paid via BPay later that day. He actually phoned my up again two days later and wanted the payment transaction reference.
Lots of background call-centre noise. Almost sounded like the guy was using a mobile phone due to wind noise.
After his call, a woman phoned up asking about my electricity bill. She knew my firstname and asked for my surname and DOB to which I said 'how do I know who you are ?' She hung up.
Accent suggested a Philippeans call centre.
If this really is AGL, they need to sort this - very bad customer relations!

Had a call from this number who stated it was AGL and they wanted to discuss my account. The gentlemen with a very strong accent asked me to identify myself and I said, " No, you called me". He then said "that's fine, they start the collection then". I then rang AGL to discuss my account and mentioned what had occurred. The gentlemen I spoke to sounded like the first caller!! Strange!!. He said that the call was genuine and that is what they do before transferring the call. I assured him that no one will be handing out their personal details that easily to a random caller and I expressed my dismay at this whole process and handling by AGL.

They knew my account number and the amount outstanding. I was asked for my name and date of birth, which I gave. Then were quite insistent that I needed to do this over the phone with a card. Too insistent. Said doing it online would take too long and I'd be charged a late fee. Much too pushy. I hung up and paid via Paypal.

Same as all these other comments - says AGL - very insistent on obtaining my date of birth and 'account details' - total scammer - block them and remember to NEVER give up your details to a cold caller EVER.

I’m sick and tired of calls from this number. The caller is from AGL telling me I have a bill overdue. Asks for personal info to confirm my identity. I refused to do so and told him this is exactly the tactic scammers take. He got short with me and said “we’ll you call AGL yourself” and he hung up on me. I rang AGL and told them I don’t appreciate these calls and this behaviour and I will not give personal details to this person. I know he’s from AGL but he’s difficult to understand, his phone line is bad, background noise is loud so it sounds dodgy and it’s unprofessional to hang up on a customer. For goodness sake, call your customers from a number that shows up as AGL or something. Changing my energy provider asap. I’m tired of this crap.

Ringing about an account
Asked for name and DOB
Wanted me to pay over the phone when I refused he challenged me so I told him I don’t know who he is and where he’s from so I will pay my account myself and no way will I be giving him my personal details over the phone - he hung up!! Got another call from the same number two hours later!! Didn’t answer - blocking now!!

Said they were AGL, and I had overdue amount owing ( which I dont) , they wanted my credit card details, very pushy and very hard to understand accent.
I Laughed and hung up.
I Rang AGL and checked,
No AGL haven't called me and No I don't owe any money.
DO NOT give Any Info To These Crooks, if yr unsure call AGL yourself and sort it out.

Noted a delay in their speaking after I answered. They claim to be from AGL and like one of the other comments, they had very poor spoken English.

Interestingly - if you have a slightly overdue bill this is not how they contact you. The call will have an automated clearly spoken message or you will be sent a direct text asking, for example if you have accidently overpaid your electricity account instead of paying your gas etc and they will rectify it.

So don't get sucked into this caller.
