Some man with an Indian accent rang, smooth talking, saying that AGL would move me to the better plan automatically after I listened to some disclosures, after I gave him some information to verify myself. I asked him to trade some details about myself. He gave me my post code, I gave him my suburb, but when I said for him to tell me the number of my house and I would give him the name of my road, he refused. He said he would send me an authentication code on my mobile that he rang from, and I asked him, how would that verify to me that he was legit? Then he hung up. Last time someone tried to scam me they offered this authentication code to my mobile too, but that scammer became obvious when I asked him to provide the last 4 digits of my credit card instead of the 1st generic 4!

Claiming to be from AGL service, asked to confirm who he was talking to. Lots of background noise and clicks before the rep started speaking. Said I was busy.

Could hear people laughing and speaking Hindi in the background when I answered. Caller claimed to be from AGL. Knew my first name and suburb but asked for me to confirm my last name and address for security reasons. I gave them a false last name and address and they didn’t question it. Totally a scam.

Claimed to be from AGL offering special rates, as I don't respond to unsolicited calls. i just hung up. They also sent a link to my phone which was deleted.

Looks like AGL loyalty customer call center shifted to Philippines, I was worried, if Scam call - they keep asking for name DOB, sending links, scary sounds like scammer making AGL loyalty offer :D

Claiming to be AGL offering significant discounts on electricity and gas but would not allow me to read anything before agreeing, saying it was a 'special offer' because I'd been with AGL so long. They seemed to have a lot of my personal details on record. I said I wanted to read something before agreeing to anything and they hung up on me.

When I called back it said it was AGL but believe it was a spam number. Blocked the number.

Similar phone call this morning from this number. Noise in background, kept cutting out, wanted to confirm details, not clear what they are wanting. I asked them to call back and I am checking with AGL as it sounds very suspicious

Suspicious call. The guy said he was offering a cheaper plan. Knew some of my personal details but asked me to confirm. I said I would call back on (02) 8229 5702. He said he could not be reached by that number. Then I said I had to hang up.

Has called me many times. Claims to be from AGL, offering 'Special Saver' plan for my electricity. Just doesn't sound right. When I said I couldn't find that plan online they said it isn't there because it's actually my current plan and they are just dropping the rates. I said, well why tell me, why not just reduce them the way you increase them without my consent? He wasn't happy! with that question!!

Claimed to be from AGL and offered a big discount on gas and electricity. They had my name. Then asked my personal details in order to switch to the deal, I said I'll call AGL myself and she hung up.

Received calls from this number couple of times on my home phone and mobile,, no messages were left. Only place they could have got my number and name was from the optus leak as my both numbers were not listed in any other leaks
