What is IVR? This number rings me all the time. A computerised voice is on the line telling me it is a very important call and to press 1 if it is the right person. Then continues asking me to enter numbers. That's when I hang up! Westpac, if it is that important then ring me personally. Don't use a computer! I am not a computer and will not answer to one!

I have been receiving these calls too. I just got off the phone to westpac and they said that its most likely a scam. Westpac doesn't have voice recorded messages where you have to press 1 etc. So the 6 people who found anonymous helpful, perhaps anonymous is part of the scam? oooo

Westpac automated service. Possibly overdrawn CC or Card needs payment. But it's a robot voice with *Insert your name here* that sounds fairly legit. Wanted a second confirmation via phone input but i hung up. Not convinced.

Not Westpac bank. I received this call on my landline number which has never been provided to Westpac. I rang Westpac's genuine phone number, which is 132 032, and asked if (02) 8093 1106 belongs to them, and which phone numbers of mine they have on file. They are unaware of who (02) 8093 1106 belongs to, they only have my mobile number on file, and confirmed that there is no problem with any of my accounts. They also said that if there was an issue and I couldn't be contacted by phone, they would email me.

Caller: Westpac scam Seems like every four years these Indian scammers try to bring back old scams and try them on us again. They call constantly same number recorded message. They know my name they know my month and day of birth but not year. I think they use Facebook to get some information and then fish if you have a Westpac account. They use a Westpac droid recorded voice and you can quickly forget that you are on and on secure line and start handing over personal details. Be wary as banks do not do this.

Caller: allegedly Westpac I have a silent number for home internet purposes only. I have no association with Westpac, so this automated call is some type of scam to bluff people into some type of unwarranted action.

Caller: Westpac As an employee of Westpac, I can confirm this. It is an automated diaper that picks up if you are late on a credit card, personal loan or equipment/auto finance product payment.
And yes, missed my credit card payment. They are just reminders to ensure your credit history doesn’t go to buggery.
As for the person who said Westpac don’t use these, checked with Westpac themselves… We do.
Don’t give your information to anyone. If they ask for information, just say will ring you back on the number on your website.
Even these genuine numbers are being spoofed now.

Caller: Scamologists SCAM SCAM SCAM (02) 8093 1106 Have rung my landline and mobile a total of 4 times in the last 24 hours. After the first call which was a robot voice with a pause and then my name I hung up and rang Westpac. They told me that they never use a recorded message to contact customers. I can vouch for this as they rang my landline about 5 years ago when I was in Katherine and attempting to buy fuel for the second time in 14 hours. They rang home and asked my wife to get me to ring them. At that stage they did not have my mobile. They have it now but not my landline.
