Caller: Jason Smith?

Told me nbn will be cut off for 3 days from 8 am tomorrow. Gave me his extn number 13176. Says he can help me with backup. Asked which suburb will be affected and he gave me area code 7298. Knew straightaway that this was a scam. Reason for posting this is to warn other people out there to watch out for this scam.

Caller: 'Jason' supposedly from NBN.

Called from (02) 8091 2588 and similar to other posts, said he was calling about NBN shut down for 3 days. When my husband said our provider would normally contact us about this, 'Jason' said that they only call for some issues, not this. Jason wanted to have access (via a code) to my husband's computer, so he could provide some kind of a 'back up' service whilst the NBN was done. My husband was sceptical before this, and once this request was made, he knew it was definitely a scam and hung up. 'Jason' had provided a number for my husband to call to 'confirm' he was 'not a scammer'.

Said she was from NBN. Same story NBN to be shut down tomorrow for 3 days. Could provide alternative connection.
Gave same phone number (02) 8091 2588 to confirm her I.D
Number 5256. SCAM.

I just received a phone call from an Indian guy who said he worked for NBN and his name was Jason Smith. Told me to call (02) 8091 2588 extension 13176. He said my NBN connection was going to get disconnected due to an upgrade in my area for 3 days. He will set up a backup for me and needs my details filled in.
He told me to click on nbnaustraliahelp.com, I did some of the forms but never submitted it. It was asking for so many personal questions like my drivers license details, Date of Birth, DODGY AS. Please do not do anything.

The phone numbers he called me from changes all the time. But it was originating from Philippines.

Called me and told that NBN will be out for three days and he wants to help me for alternate connection. He directed me to a website (I don't remember exact spellings) www.nbnhelponline.webnode.com , I said why it's not .com.au and it might be a scam. He said you can call on this number (02) 8091 2588 and ask for extension 13176 and my name Jason Smith.
Thankfully this website helped me and I am contributing my part on 12th Nov 2021.
Two times he called was from 0413 548 752 & 0413 548 967

Caller: Same name “Jason Smith” with strong Indian accent

I asked him to confirm the formal NBN website where I can get the shutdown info. Told him there were too many con artists and a$$holes wasting people’s time with these calls and that there was no way I would ever take instructions to check something on my computer from some dude on the phone. Same contact details and ref no as other posts above. Not a very convincing scam and I basically told him where to go and put the phone down. Hope no one gets caught with this rubbish. Shame there does not seem to be a way to get back at the guys!!

This guy! He was trying to scam me by telling me whole of Victoria NBN will be shut down. Asking me to follow instructions on providing me a backup connection. I almost fell for it. Hung up halfway - I hope he did not manage to get anything from me!!! so upset with these people.

A guy with an Indian accent called up saying my NBN will be cut off for 3 days. The number displayed was a Korea number (+82). When I confronted him, he said there is something wrong with my phone, as he's calling from Sydney. He then gave me this number to call back on. A clear scam. I called back but no pne picked up

Same scam as above re NBN being cut off for 3 days and activating backup - I needed to be in front of my computer. Gave me the number to call (02) 8091 2588, ext 13176). I at first thought it was genuine, as my NBN has been intermittently not working recently and NBN have been working in our street. However, his inability to tell me my address or any other of my details confirmed it as a scam. Call came from (03) 8766 9986

A guy claiming to be Jason Smith from NBN told me our NBN will be down for 3 days and we need to activate a backup service. He tried to get me to go to www.nbnhelpall.webnode.com via the windows Run service. When I asked where I could call him back he gave me this number (02) 8091 2588) and said his extension was #13176 and his employee ID was #1479986. He actually called from (03) 8698 9355. Nothing to do with NBN, total scam. Backup service is provided by some NBN service providers on their mobile networks through a SIM card in your NBN modem.

I recieved the same scam call from the same number (30 sept 2021). Caller location came up as Melbourne (my capital city).

The caller had an native Indian accent, but said her name was Jennifer Martin.

Said phone, internet, home phone would all be switched off for three days as of tomorrow, but her company could provide a free service to set me up on a backup.

Caller: NBN

A woman, who claimed to be Mary Martin from NBN (ID # M5256) called to say the NBN in our area was going to be cut off for 3 days and was offering back-up. When I asked if official notification had been sent out, she said it was too hard to do a mass communication. I told her I felt sorry for her if it was a legitimate call, but I didn't believe her. Then she provided a phone number (02) 8091 2588 and her ID number to call back. After googling the scenario to discover it was a scam, I called back the number and a man answered the phone saying it was 'NBN'. When I said I knew it was a scam, he hung up on me.

saying that she is calling from NBN and saying that my NBN will be off for 3 days and they are offering a back up connection, told her to send me all of the details via email and she said we cant do via email only can give you the back up via telephone. what a BS, then gave me this number if i want the backup connection.

Caller: Indian called himself Jason Smith

Received call with (02) 8096 7572, tell me to back up as my nbn will be cut off for 3 days.
He wanted to Run my computer. Acting stupid I told him I don't know how. He then gave me a website www.nbnhelpall.webnote.com which I realised that the website is not from NBN. I told him I will call my service provider to back up if required. He then gave me his contact (02) 8091 2588.
My service provider informed me that NBN will never contact us direct. So be careful.

Telling me she is cutting off my phone, data and nbn and if I want to back it up.
Called from a private number but provided the number (02) 8091 2588 to call back from.
