Caller: (02) 7908 4176?

Same # called, requesting I press 1 etc, not sure how you do that on a Rotary phone, lol.
Curious to know how they get these numbers, understanding it's done via automation and most probably? outside Australia. In this day and age why don't the Telcos require a 100 point or the like check up prior to handing out the numbers these scammers are calling from.. Guess there's a logical explanation????

Caller: the apparent ATO

they called advising they are the ATO. Asking for my details. And wanting my bank details.

I said i didn't want too and that she needed to provide me with her details and she hung up.

Yup - scam call. Tax File Number suspended etc etc

Hung up when I answered

Scam called also from other numbers. third call in two days

Claimed that an arrest warrant will be issued for taxation offences and that my TFN has now been blocked.

Rang twice. Never answered. Got an automated message after the second call about how my tax file number was suspended and so on and so forth like the rest of the replies here. Scam. Blocked.

Automated voice talking about tax file number and being arrested. Also called on 0476 709 298, 0431 032 271, 0432 210 973 received these calls over the last 2 days.

I have received a call from this number as others have regards my tax file number.....this is the third call and they use a different number each time. SCAM!

Same as the all the other comments. My tax file number has been cancelled, I could be arrested, there will be a federal charge & press 1 for the details.. Connected to ATO somehow though as I contacted them last week for the first time in years to connect to My Gov account - very dodgy. block all the numbers including 0430 962 728

Caller: Indian Scammers

Had two calls from these idiots so far. First one I played them for 1 hour. Asked me for the phone number of local Police Station and they called back using fake caller ID for the police station. Told me I would have to close my bank account and transfer all funds to a "secure wallet" where it would be quarantined until I was issued a new Tax File number as mine had been used for money laundering and drug trafficking to the value of $ 2 000 000. I gave them some phoney bank account numbers and BSB numbers, before I got sick of playing and blew a whistle in their ear. Please don't hang up on them, play with them and waste their time for as long as you can
