Visa/Mastercard department message about suspicious transactions. Pressed 1 to speak to an asian woman and told her what I thought of her. I was pretty fired up as she interrupted me digging post holes and hitting endless roots and concrete.

Caller: Caller purporting to be Nathan from Telstra

Related phone numbers (08) 7092 2501 and (08) 7092 2589. This attempted scam continued across 3 numbers in a space of 5 minutes.

I received a phone call on my mobile from a male purporting to be Nathan from Telstra on (08) 7092 2589. It was a call centre. The scammer stated that my internet would be disconnected as over the last 3 or 4 days, Telstra had detected that I was using the internet on a Public IP address and not a Private IP address. Had I made changes to my computer in the last few days. Without answering the question, I asked his full name and was provided with it. He continued asking the question - had I made changes to my computer and in relation to another question from me (about Telstra) - he stated wouldn't answer my question unless I answered his question. I stalled and he got increasingly agitated, and I then hung up. Immediately, I had a follow up phone call from him on the (02) 7251 9521 number - yes (02) instead of (08). His annoyance / anger continued - had I made changes to my computer and when it was clear that he was getting nowhere, I received a "Take care of yourself" and the "AFP will be notified". He then muttered that I was an idiot before hanging up. There had also been an attempt to ring me from (08) 7092 - 2501 with no message left whilst I was on the (02) call. I followed through with Telstra and yes, it is a SCAM. Reading some of the other experiences on these three numbers on the Reverse Australia website - SCAM 101. Yes, it is a SCAM.

Claimed to be from the NBN and that they had reported outages from my line. When I said that's not right he moved on to say unauthorised IPs were accessing my network. I asked if they wanted me to download any programs, said no then said I would need to download anydesk on my phone. Block and report this number to scamwatch

The guy told me that he is calling from Telstra. The reason for the call is they receive signals from where I live which they identified as due to an overseas fraudster doing something with my internet. I said he must be stupid if he is thinking that I will believe him, he was still trying to convince me when I hang up, I've been receiving such calls very often recently, another one was trying to get my credit card information telling me that I did something wrong with my Amazon order

Rang for 14 seconds and hung up. I never reply to any text message about a missed call that can't be bothered giving time to answer a call. Came here and found out others have already found it's a scam call so now blocked.

Got a call from this number 15 minutes ago, and didn't answer. Reading the other comments here, I am glad I didn't.

Called and said they were from Telstra saying my internet modem had switched over to private and was open to hacking. Said she could help me fix it. When I said I was busy and could call Telstra later, she protested and I hung up. Definite scam.
