Called and asked if we accept credit card. Didn't have an invoice to pay. Weird and dodgy.

Person hung up as soon as I said hello

Caller confirmed the business name and asked if we accepted credit cards. I said yes, and he asked "American Express?" I said, No, we don't accept Amex. He replied, "thanks, thats all I need to know" and hung up.

Just had exactly the same thing, asked if we accept credit card payments and Amex.
She said her name was Sarah Hardman calling for her dad John Hardman who lives in Melbourne, she said she lives in Sydney..

Someone claiming to be from American Express. I don't have American Express. Probably some punk who got his hands on the data that has been released lately and was going to try and scam some money. Not this little black duck!

SMAM!! He asked if we accept credit cards. I asked do you have an invoice to pay? No, but do you take American Express - No we don't. He said I'll have to see if I have a VISA or MASTERCARD then hung up.

I received a call from this number asking if we take credit cards as payment for our cars. I asked how much he was looking to spend on a car and that would determine whether or not we would be able to accept credit card payment. He said he didnt know and needed to have a look at the cars. I asked him if he was talking a $10k car or $100k car and he didnt know so i knew it was a scammer. I could see it was a sydney number so i asked him if he was in bendigo now and he said yes so i was starting to have fun with him knowing i am not in bendigo. He asked if we accept American express.

Man with English accent called our business asking we accept American Express as he is trying to find out for his Dad.
Searched this, seen the results and then hung up on him.

same experience, called our business. they asked if i accepted credit cards. I said yes you can book online. they asked if they accepted it for their mother and i said yes but we are of no help to you as we are located in a different state. They said oh no my mum lives in brisbane. I said yes she can book it all online, asked if we accepted amex and I repeated she can book it all online and they hung up. Think they knew that I knew they were dodgy. So tired of this rubbish wasting my time!

Same thing, called asking for a friend about whether we take credit card and in particular American Express. What do they hope to gain from this question? Am I missing something?

Called asking if my business accepts credit card, called my personal number that’s not listed publicly in association with my business. I asked what it was exactly they wanted to buy and he stated it was for his dad and his dad wants to book an appointment. Definitely a scammer, only way they could have known this number was associated with my business is through one of the data leaks. Keeps calling back trying to trick me, number blocked.

Said her name was Sarah Hardman, calling for her mum Rebecca Hardman. Wanted to know if we take credit card payment, specifically AMEX. Sounded dodgy from the beginning and she couldn't provide answers to follow up questions.

English lady called asked if we accept credit card for payment for her dad, them asked if we accept Amex..said yes to both. She said thanks and hung up...weird!!

Mentioned my business name, and asked if I accept AMEX. Could be fishing for voice.

Called to see if we accept credit cards. Asked if we took AMEX. Said Thanks & hung up. Sounded like a young English sounding lady.

phone call asking if we accepted credit cards, told them visa + mastercard they asked about american express told them no they hung up, probably just another scammer trying to take our hard earned money they need to get a job and be a decent human
