automated call regarding my tax file number has been suspended. Select 1 for information, to be directed to an Indian speaking Male, who wanted my details to verifier my account details and confirm who I am, other wise a warrant for my arrest will be started. I said you called me you should know my details. why should I trust you. He said 'If I don't trust hang up, so I did.
Why aren't the ATO doing something about these Scammers, ! As some people would give them their details out of fright.

Thank you for people taking time to post warnings on this number: (02) 7201 8298. Looking up Reverse Australia I was able to grab intel, NOT answer their call, and surprise surprise, no message was left.

Have gotten this call about 3 times this week - every-time informing me I have a warrant under my name and something about tax fraud.

This mob of scammers allso use number 0436 873 329 and threaten people with court action. full on scammers that heed to be shut down. Do not press 1 as the call says to do. You will get scammed - Guaranteed

Robotic call saying I have a warrant to be arrested for a tax scam. Had a good laugh

Stupid scammer used a robotic voice recording to say that my TFN was suspended and that I was about to be arrested - but that I could always press '1' to find out more. Blocked number.

Caller: Both (02) 7201 8298 and then 0414 198 403

I didn't answer the first one and they didn't leave a message but the mobile number was a recorded message saying "Attention. This message is from the Department of Legal..." at which point I hung up recognising it from the reports above I found after searching the first number. I blocked the (02) number at 1pm and they tried from the mobile number 2 hours later. I didn't answer the first number as (02) 7xxxx just looked like a strange number to me.

I ignored the call as assumed it would be a scam. Glad to have it verified here. I have also blocked the caller.

I was just told that my TFN is expired and there is an arrest warrant issued against my name :) . I told them am a cop and the call was cut .. idiots

I did not answer the call, looked here and bingo.

Said was from ATO and my tax file number was suspended, hung up and blocked number.
Funny but yesterday I had provided my mobile number to Centrelink, coincidence?
