Gives a name and number and when you question the phone goes dead

Obviously another scam. Foreigner using foreign terms to say their from the ATO. ATO do not telephone with threats of police etc. Disregard immediately. Just another lowlife scammer.

Lucky me has had 2 calls/messages left from "Jason O'Connor from the Australian Taxation Office". Hilarious. He really doesn't sound like a 'Jason O'Connor' - sounds S.E. Asian or Sub-Continent. Good laugh

A message from a private number was left on my answering machine asking me to call this number (02) 6145 2403 regarding tax evasion. Advising that a police officer from the local station will be coming to knock on my door. I think is is a load of B_____T

Why are the authorities not interested in locating this number in Australia?

3 messages in 3 days from this scammer threatening me with an arrest warrant for tax evasion. If you get this call please DELETE and DO NOT call back!
I don't bother answering my phone anymore either - it's constantly a scammer of some sort or somebody wanting money.

my husband took first call from Officer Joseph Garner - ATO about outstanding warrants for my arrest. Second call I took and told me same name and badge number 101694, I repeated his name asked how to spell it, repeated his badge number back to him and then asked why I hadn't received the warrants yet. I asked his permission to record conversation for reference and he hung up. I knew it was a scam, but others may not, so always say you are recording conversation.

Jason certainly gets around doesn't he. Act, NSW, WA Vic. Same rubbish about the ATO. I didn't get the call and he left the same message that has been mentioned about local police will call with an Arrest Warrant. Gives us all something to laugh about. It was mentioned on 3AW last week.

Have had two calls from Jason O'connor with a Msg left each time to call him, before the police knock on my door, regarding tax fraud. Just another scammer.

Got left a message from this number today, thought SCAM, so called it back, just engaged signal. Since when did the ATO tell you they were going to press charges without giving you notice to show records

Just got another call from Jason.He tried late last year too. Total scum. Just saw this article. It has some information about what the ATO will actually say and do If they need to contact you.

Definitely a scam, same message left as comments made previously.

I have had 2 messages left on msg bank one on 12/2/16 and another 15/02/2016. Caller using the name Jason O'Connor from the ATO making threats of legal action and police will be knocking on our door. I know now why I don't answer my phone anymore only people that call are scammers or charity's.
