Checked this missed call (02) 6140 3431 ( 8.40am 😐) on Reverse, read it was a scam, so I called them back.
The guy answered Australian Taxation Office and had nominal info on me..I've said ' I checked you on Reverse Phone and you've been reported as a tax scam'.
The guy said excuse me?
I repeated myself adding
'So how would you like to try to scam me today mate?'.
Silence and then he hung up.

Yep. Digital voice telling me I was not to ignore the CF79591 case against me. Very time sensitive, shame I am crap at listening to my messages and its 3 weeks old. VBG. Have not been contacted by angry people trying to take me to court yet... even bigger grin.

My answering machine answered. Said he was from the ATO. Saying I owed money etc. Very aggressive and scary. I knew it was a scam and ignored the call. Should of reported the number to the police but thought if people are silly enough to fall to these scammers they can only blame themselves. As you will never get a abusive calls from the ATO . Whenever scammers call you, and give you a number to call to verify who they are, don't believe them as it is a back up number and is a scam.

My mother who is not good with english received this computerised voicemail from these people. So glad o checked here first.
Sick of these people who try and bully the old and elderly

Had a call in much the same vain as the rest, the caller was aggressive and stated; "you are about to be arrested for monies owing" I told him the law doesn't work in that way he quickly hung up, I called the police, ATO and my accountant all to confirm... then I called him back to leave a polite message of exactly what type person I thought he was. Sadly this scam worked on a friend of mine and cost her.

This number has been calling me for a week now. Leaving messages saying "This is not a marketing call". Also left a message with another claiming that she is Nikki Johnson from the Australian Taxation Office and they are offended that I have not been answering their calls and as this case is highly sensitive to ring back on the above number. Have not and will not.

I just received a call saying they were from the ATO. It was an automated message with American accent. Saying I am (didn’t understand her name) from the Australian Tax Office.
Please return my call. This is a serious matter and needs to be dealt with. Please do not ignore my call or we may need to take serious action.

Still at it, gave him a long abusive rant till he hung up, going to keep calling him at all hours

"The police say they can't do anything about it (?)" <- Typical NSW Police. They're too busy financially ruining innocent Australian's with thousands in fines for minor traffic infringements to actually chase up real criminals, because it's more profitable to victimize your own passive citizenry than protect them. They're absolutely gutless and disgusting IMHO.

Yes - I believe that this grotesque attempt to scam gullible people using an implied threat qualifies for Federal Police action.

Spoke to AFP about it, they know all about it, and so does the ATO. The police say they can't do anything about it (?)

I have just received a computerised message from them, I am not happy that I am paying x amount of dollars to Telstra every month for my home phone only to be used by scammers. So over this stuff. Every night we are being bothered and I have a silent phone number. So what is the deal here?

Received recorded message in a computer generated female voice, same type of message as others here, "if I don't hear from you or your lawyer I can only wish you luck" etc. AFP should be onto this- they are using a carriage service to menance or harass. Pond scum.

Received a recorded voice message from this number at 9.30am 6 October 2015 advising me that I had a criminal law suit filed against me with a suit number. Advised me I needed to call back urgently.

Client just received a message from this number- ATO re criminal lawsuit filed against you case number CF79.

Nice people? At least it makes us appreciate those who are genuine.
