Received a cal in relation to letters supposedly not responded to in relation to pension increase and backpay. Followed prompts to speak to someone and this person had a foreign accent. Very suspicious and certain it is a scam.

This is a scam number pretending to be DHS. They want to try to get you to pay a fee to receive backpay. Don't believe it, and don't pay any money or gift cards out.

My friend, who is on an aged pension received a phone call from (02) 6064 2065. They said it was DHS and she had not replied to letters. I am glad she rang me before she rang them on the number given

Got a recorded message call to ring number for Centrelink about pension increase and why we hadnt replied to letters. I called the number it answered (in a foreign accent) saying dept of Human services then went through to another Person who said Good afternoon Centrelink how can I help you. I said I am returning your call. She hung up. I had already suspected scam and wasnt going to give any personal info as all letters come through the MyGov site not in the mail.
