I disagree with some of the comments. I think it is a Philippines accent. Probably from the ATO Manilla office.

I received an automated message stating that where was a warrant out for my arrest due to a tax complaint. Spoke to my account prior to this call, as this isn't the first one. He told me to ignore the message. It's a total scam, block the number.

Some guy with an American Accent claiming I have done tax fraud. Obviously a scam.

I got a phone call from James Anderson. and also from this number : (03) 4309 4087 he has (Indian US) accent. it is Scam

Please do not believe if you Australian Taxation Office ring you demanding Money
because ATO won't do that. i work at Finance Govt Dept WA and we sent a letter , and a reminder letter to clients.

My wife received call. She was told to call back on the above number. Luckily she called me and all I did was google the number and found out it was scam.

I called the number but I claimed to be someone else. Straight away he asked me what is my mobile. I gave him some random numbers and he got upset. I told him if I could speak to James Anderson. He persisted on getting my mobile number and that's when I hung up.

Most of these scam calls are made just after financial year. So please be careful and google up your queries.

"James Anderson" from the "Australian Taxation Office" employee ID 95001003 (bar code) from (02) 6064 2041 and (03) 4309 4087 saying I was under investigation for tax fraud and go to court if i did't pay money by today from Wooliest voucher. I have report it already to ATO. I hope he will go to jail and die in Hell

I had the same phone call from james aderson after i talked to the ato i rang him back and asked him if he really was from tax office he wouldnt answer my question and said i was wasting his time and hung up . Do not fall for his rude message bank manner

Scam, same as all the others told me i had a complaint against my name about tax fraud and told me they would get a warrant for my arrest if I did not call back.

Called claiming to be Dean Sanderson from the ATO left forceful message regarding complaints made about tax avoidance suggested serious action would be taken ifcall not returned. Scam

A man's voice calling himself James Anderson with an Asian-Indian/American accent said that before they take this matter to court they wanted me to call this number. He repeated that he was from the ATO and not to ignore this message. I have reported it to the ATO.

Called Tuesday 10.48 am 25 July 17 leaving a message purportedly from James Anderson of the ATO. "Do not disregard this message" regarding threatened legal action for tax evasion. Did not call back.

yep I got the same voicemail - scam!!

They were saying I was under investigation for tax fraud and it was going to go to court. If I didn't call back there would be a warrant for my arrest.

Same as Jeff, a "James Anderson" from the "Australian Taxation Office" called from a private number, left a message forcefully requesting I call him back on this phone number. Claiming I'm in trouble and if I don't call back I'll be arrested. Definitely a scam.
