Like others - received a call also on the 18th November 2015, and I wasn't home - they actually were stupid enough to leave a recorded message with the person name... supposedly a *Jason O'Connor* from the ATO stating that a police *from your area will come and arrest you* unless you call me back and sort this matter out*...
Second time I've received this kind of call in 3mths...first one was an automated threat.

This is the most likely record call we got

"The purpose of this call is just to inform you that there has been a lawsuit filed against your name concerning tax evasion and this case is about to get executed into the commonwealth courthouse of your characters. So before things go wrong against you or before the police officer from the local police department will approach you and issue a warrant for your arrest kindly call us back on our call back number which is (02) 6064 2010 I repeat my number again which is (02) 6064 2010 again this is Jason occonor from the Australian taxation office thank you and you have a wonderful day."

Didn't say any specifics about our names, address or even the person they were calling in regards too. Do not call them back, it may lead to phone charges or automatic subscriptions.

I've had the same message left 7 times in 3 days but with a different number (02) 9119 2972. It's annoying that somebody in authority / Telstra whoever can't shut the sub-humans down.

Had exactly the same message left twice by Jason O Conner that unpaid tax needed to be paid or police will execute an arrest warrant. Stupid enough to leave a phone no also. (02) 6064 2010.

I have just come home to the same caller, he left a message on the answering machine, again stating he was Jason O'Conner from the ATO. Same story about being arrested and my case was about to go to court.

Received a garbled message on the house phone about 'tax' evasion, law suit and left a contact number and name 'Jason Oconnor' of the ATO. Didn't quite get it all so rang the number next day. Call was taken by a lady with an Indain accent calling herself Hazel Saunders......She was my 'case' officer and even quoted my case number!!! Told me I owed the ATO A$8998.00 having submitted a fraudulent tax return!! To prevent further legal action I would need to pay it within the hour and in a 'cash' deposit to account she would give me when I got to the bank. Was a bit stumped when I told her the bank closed, transferred me to her 'supervisor', someone with a very heavy indain accent and who called himself Shane. 'Shane' gave me his 'special' Tax office fraud squad ID number and told me that the call was being recorded by the ATO, Federal police and Commonwealth prosecutors office........It was truly bizzare and obviously a scam. I ended the call with the polite request not to ring me again!!! Do not respond in any way to this message should you be unlucky enough to receive it. For my own interest I contacted the ATO 'report a scam' line and spoke to one of the information officers and I quote " The ATO does not at anytime a ring tax payer and demand payments. All issues to do with the tax office are always via mail and accompanied with a full explanation of the particular problem. Once contact is established a case officer may be assigned but this is always confirmed in writing before any follow up action. The ATO would never demand a payment in immediate cash, they would issue an invoice or statement". He also referred me to their website 'scamwatch' should I wish to lodge a scam notification. It seems it's already been done. Whatever you do do not pay one cent to these or another other person demanding payments without checking. If all else fails end the call and ring the police and ask for advice. Good luck............Nibbled but not 'bitten'!!!!!!

This happened to me too! Didn't call the number and now risk the wrath of the ATO coming upon me to take my first born, house, car and any other item I own. . . .what an A/hole this clown Jason O'Connor is for pulling such a stunt. May the fleas of a thousand Camels infest his armpits! Why does Telstra not shut this idiot's number down?

I received 2 calls (messages on my answering machine as I don't answer calls from unknown numbers anymore - sick of scammers) from this number today. 'Jason O'Connor' said (in what appeared to be a filipino accent & a recorded message at that) arrest warrant issued, police were coming etc etc. It's a scam, do not engage with these people.

SCAM
Got a call today 26 November from Jason O'Connor from the ATO saying it was regarding Tax Evasion. Luckily I remembered that the ATO don't call people and there are always scams happening. It was also a recorded message which is obviously because the scammers don't want to be asked questions.

I just received this exact same phone message today, word for word as quoted previously in Tee from Perth's post. Caller left a message to call back on the same number (02) 6064 2010. Checked with MyGov and ScamWatch websites, this is definitely a scam.
