Incidentally it was a call from 0523568974 that prompted my search. I use the answering machine, and check the number on *69 (Optus).

This number called our business this week and upon answering, just hung up.

Whenever you see a number starting with an area code like (05), one has to be wary. I should not have bothered answering.

These people in 3rd world countries have so much time on their hands, they're trying to scam us in the West.

They are calling regularly but I do not answer the phone when I see numbers I do not know. It goes to message machine but no message left. Thanks to this site I was able to confirm it is dodgy... definitely not the lotteries commission ringing to tell me I've won a truck load LOL. Thanks!

0523568974 was the first number to ring my mobile, I forgot where he said he was from but the guy knew my name, both my home and mobile numbers AND my address so I freaked out when he started to ask questions about my income (which I did not answer) and said he would like to make an appointment to see me to discuss saving $10,000 on my mortgage!! The next day they rang again with (03) 9951 0922 to try making a supposed appointment again and asked if I had investment properties. I got sick of the calls already so I set those 2 numbers to 'reject' on my mobile but they keep ringing with different numbers, 0418 755 406 and 0417 477 757, which I also set to reject but they probably have a long list of numbers they use to harass people.
Wish there was a way to just make them stop.

Just Lost 22min of my life - as other comments, reporting to be an Aurthorised partner with the Aust Government for an Incentive Scheme for loan repayment - Maxwell Solutions Australia Sth Melb. - No such business, no web page, no White Pages listing... OMG scam big time, wanted to organise a face to face meeting.... thinking back I reckon they initially tried the Solar Rebate line - but we are all Solared up!

Rang us twice tonight. First time at 7pm pretending to be telstra and the second time at 8pm. When I answered the second time they hung up.

I got a call from this number, I actually decided to answer (normally I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know or that are not in my area) and the woman was an Indian person trying to get me to answer a survey. I told her to go away and call me back later, then added the number to the call rejection list on my phone. For those running Android this is how you add a number to the call reject list from your 'Phone' application.

Phone > Call Settings > Call Rejection > Auto Reject List > Create. Then just enter the number, and hit save. When they call you the call will be automatically rejected and you will receive an SMS notification letting you that they tried to call.

They are Rude and don't mind dropping F bomb if you tell them to stop calling, I have had 6 calls from them in 24 hours
Asked to talk to manager/ call centre supervisor got a Indian man Johnny lol
Lets just say he told me I cannot req for them to stop calling as they have paid for my number and will continue calling it
I asked who sold you my number and he said he cannot say but an Australian marketing company was his main supplier of outbound marketing numbers

I had a call from this number telling me I was eligible for a solar power subsidy. They asked for my deceased father-in-law so I pretended to be he. Something came over me after I started saying "yep" to everything and then I ramped up to sounding like those "yep yep yup yup yup yupyupyupyupyupyup" guys from Sesame Street and after about 10 seconds of me talking over the top of her the Indian lady on the other end lost her sh*t and shouted "yeah yeah yeah f*ck YOU f*ck YOU f*ck YOU" before hanging up.

Calls 2 days running on landline. Didn't grasp company name. Peter wanting to know if I was a working person??? Said I was retired ...still kept talking incoherently ...telling ME I did not sound retired. Believe me, I am 71yro!!!

SCAM CALLER!!!

Had this number call me today, Heavy Indian Accent trying to sell me Solar Panels, keep asking for personal details and getting very pushy.
I am on the Government Do Not Call Register and still get this???

I have got a calls about once a month always in the early evening (about 7pm) for the past six months from this number. I always let this go to message bank, but they never leave a message. I have now added them to my blocked list. I suggest others do the same.

I keep getting calls from them. I never use my home number and never give it to anyone, and it is a silent number. Only people that know my number is Telstra - so how did they get my number???!!!

Got a call from "Information Management Service" of 14 Albert Street South Melbourne, who were conducting a survey in the Mitcham area. The caller with an Indian accent asked generic questions and then thanked me and hung up. About a week later the same (presumably) Indian gent rang back and confirmed what I had told him in the earlier call. He said I had been selected to save $10,000 to $15,000 in tax next year and all I had to do was run it past my accountant. High pressure tactics were used to get an appointment to come to my home. I told him I would do some checks and to ring me back. When I hit redial the number could not be connected. Sounds decidedly dodgy. I'm looking forward to his return call. (05) 2356 8974

Started getting same calls as above... Phoning repeatedly. Machine dialing, no answer. A private call soon after hanging up.

The number is not local and is not known to me but calls at home and the wifes mobile. Wife try to call it back and got a nursing home that said that no one had called.Let it go to message bank.

Just got a guy called Mark Thomspon from Maxwell Solutions with a subcontinent accent asking for my wife (had her first name and maiden name). He wanted all sorts of financial information. I asked him to properly identify himself. I told him to never call again and hung up on him but he continued to call back repeatedly refusing to go away. We let his calls go to answering machine an he range over 10 tims in a row until we took the phone of the hook. I felt physically sick after this.

Max Benefit Solutions giving web site of optimagroup.com.au. All a bit suspicious. They don't let up with the calls.
