Symbio Networks www.symbionetworks.com is the VoIP provider for this number. So give them a call on 1300 789 653 and ask them to stop the scammers

Changing passwords is not going to help if you are using a computer with team viewer running in the background as they will be able to see what changes you have made... my mother in law was just scammed by this Yahoo thing for $208

I called this number for I had a genuine problem with yahoo account and this guy said he required permission to get on my computer for remote assistance with my yahoo account I accepted and after that he instructed to me write my first and last name and my yahoo email address. Then he proceeded to show that my problem needed to be fixed by external technician and asked that I pay $200 to an account in Sydney . I refused and hang up. I wonder if he could continue accessing data from my computer or my other online accounts. Yahoo Australia need to catch these scammers.

This is clearly a scam as I read yahoo does not collect fees. I called 1800 875 386 at first to ask in about the problem regarding my email and an Indian said my file was corrupted and I had to pay money. I knew this was wrong and said to him maybe another day. I then saw the yahoo website about don't trust customer services on the phone and tried my luck with 1800 958 231 and an Indian woman answer it, I asked about the problem I just had and inquire about my previous call. She immediately say that if the technical people say I need to pay then I will need to. And I ask for an estimate she gave me $80-100. I asked her again for an exact number by checking the problem in my email. She then continue she can't give an exact number and told me "this is not a free service". My gut was telling me it is another scam and so I said maybe another day and hang up. If you're wondering how I got this idea of being a scam without much info, they called me back (since the put me on hold too long) with a number +1 (724) 243-2052 from Belle Vernon US and I mean this is an official customer service in Aus shouldn't it be in Aus or call back with a different number. Anyway stay alert.

Yes, I also thought it was a genuine Yahoo Help service and received a call back from 'Scott' with a strong Indian accent and lots of background noise as from a call centre. However, he gave me details of costs, a 'one off quick fix' would cost $380. There is also another phone number associated with this Site which is recognised as being a scam, (02) 8320 6047.

First time in 16 years I've ever attempted to contact Yahoo, where do you get genuine assistance if you ever need it?

Do not give them any details. They are pretending to be Yahoo, Gmail support and claim that your account is hacked and that you need to pay them X amount to protect your IP address. Please do not let them do anything to your computer or laptop as they will try ask you to download a program to gain control over your computer. Its 100% a scam. If you did pay contact your relevant financial institution for fraudulent activity and get your money back.

I wish I'd read this earlier. It just happened to me. I called them thinking they were gmail support. Turns out you can't even google google safely. Did the police do anything?

Same here. I contacted them 31/1/17,the Web site said it was Yahoo Australian Support. The number was 1800 614 419. They have now created a new Web page with the 1800 958 231 number. I had a problem with my Email account transferring to my new Galaxy s5. "Mike" told me that the problem was caused through my Comp' being "hacked". He said that some Nigerian guy was using my Comp' pathway to access porn. I shelled out $700 to have it fixed. He downloaded "Teamview" to monitor my Comp'. Afterwards I noticed that this was a Free Trial Version for 6 months. I then went to Yahoo Help and found out that they don't charge anything. I can't get rid of the "Teamview" running on my comp". Will take to Experts. Changed all my Passwords, notifie my Financial Institutions. They have Flagged my Accounts.

This is a fake fishing number. They will get into ur computer and destroy it and then ask you for $1000 to fix it. They did this to my computer. My son to is a tech head bypassed their code. They changed the administrator so I could not access a thing. C drive was empty everything was on an x drive. My son extracted the files and we had to wipe the computer and re boot it. It was a lot of work but Chris u bastard I did not have to pay you a penny. The fraud squad know about you now and hopefully they will shut you bastards down
