Scammer Claiming to be from Paypal - asking to update details

Caller: said his name is Melvin from Paypal

Melvin called and wanted feedback for paypal asked if I agreed to continue I said yes, he wanted me to press a button on my phone advise Melvin that I dont have a paypal account and that paypal doesnt call their customers I told him that he is a scammer but continue to ask me to press a button on the phone. I hung up 9n him. He then rang my daughter's phone no but she didnt answer.

Got txt msg about a purchase of a Mac Book. Called 1800 950 475. Sounded like a call centre. They asked me about my credit card details - asking for card numbers and security numbers, to cancel the product order. Wife called our bank confirming no pending payments due to Amazon. Had to cancel my card with my bank just to be sure! In meantime, received txt msg from Amazon advising of a suspicious account log-in in QLD. I live in VIC.

Sound like a good deal for a MacBook Pro, but I wouldn't know...
