Yes this number was on a pop-up by scammers trying to take over my computer. Stealing information by installing trojan software. The police need to track them down and accidentally delete them. They are the scum of the human race.

Yep, scam, dont call the number. If ya pc locks onto the page your on, just press ctrl, shift, escape at the same time. I window will then pop up with whats running on your pc, with the option to shut down programs by ending task. Select your browser, e.g Chrome, and end task. That simple. They will be dealt with eventually once they piss the wrong person off, like El Chappo's brother or something!!!

This is a scam call -- they are fishing for your passwords and credit card details and will disable your computer if you are foolish enough to let them in.

Dang these idiot scam artists. The same thing happened to me tonight. I called the number and then heard this long ringing signal and thought 'This is not my telephone providers ringing tone' and I hung up straight away. I did click on ctrl alt and delete and ended my session online then restarted it. This really pees me off. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Just received a pop up saying that I need to call this number or the computer would remain blocked. I called as I couldn't get rid of the voice over message that kept repeating the whole time. My Indian friend said that our whole network was affected including our IP address and our apple and Microsoft devices. He accessed the computer and was showing me the issues including the lack of internet security. He then said that it would cost USD $199 to have their tech support fix the issues and he needed access to passwords and email addresses, to which I replied thanks but I will get my IT fellow to look at it and hung up.
I hope that he hasn't accessed any information from the computer.

Hubby and I downloading a movie on a site we regularly use, the message pops up saying all what everyone has said. I immediately disconnected from the Internet and called the number. No answer, straight to "beep". And a +30 46 Greece came up calling me! I answered and said he was from Microsoft computer. I gave him the error number and when he asked me to connect to his server, my partner and I looked at each other and went no. European sounding man said he was from California - the number he called from (area code) +30 is Greek! Nothing has happened and scanning laptop as I type this for anything strange happening. Definitely going to track down how the message came up!!!

When the message appears, Ctrl+Alt+Del = Start task manager. Then end process iexplorer. Don't call the number. Run anit-virus scan after. Norton generally blocks it, but sometimes still misses.

If this has happened to u I think u should change all your passwords and monitor carefully any suspicious activity in accounts. Dangerously they also have your phone number which is used for identity pass codes. Maybe call the police?

As soon as I saw this Microsoft pop-up on my computer screen I started freaking out and called the number straight away, little did I know it was just one big scam. The woman who picked up was incredibly unprofessional which was a massive red flag, told me to turn off my computer and hung up on me straight after. Whatever you do, don't call this number!

Ridiculous that the authorities have not been able to shut this down although it is common knowledge - even worse that the people who they will succeed in scamming are the most vulnerable remote rural poor + elderly with only one Internet doirce being their computer and lifeline to outside world. Scumbags know this very deliberate as with a smartphone or iPad you can check number and come up with these results that it's a scam. Either authorities should fix or compensate all of us affected as they know about the scam. Cannot be fixed without a tech - must reset whole computer - please tell us if you know of any other way to fix they got us yesterday
