Caller: Energy Australia

I also received this email (9 identical ones all on the same day). I was also suspicious. I phoned Energy Australia on their normal Enquiries number (133466) rather than the number in the email. They confirmed they really do owe me money (about $20) and that they needed my bank account details to enable repayment. I concluded that, as I was actually talking to their call centre, this was probably OK. Otherwise it is a remarkably sophisticated scam of some kind and if so I will be reporting back later.

I have just had one too I smell a rat

Got an email saying I had a credit on 2 accounts, from a very old postal address, I fell for it and called the number on the email, they got a bunch of details off me before my radar started going off!!!!! far out

I’ve just had a text message. I have no closed account. I say it’s another fraudulent setup.
