1800 656 052 is a number that pops up if you click on a dodgy website or dodgy advertisement. A popup message freezes your computer screen along with alarm bells saying it is a message from Microsoft. You have been invaded by a Trojan, do not attempt to turn off your computer or do anything else or all of you information will be compromised. If you call the number and fall for the scam they answer saying that they are an independent technical support comany called letsfix, when you ask if this is Microsoft. They ask for the error code, '096109' and you must give them remote access to your computer. Then they 'confirm that you have been hacked and that if you had left this any longer you would have lost everything on your computer and all your security details would be unsafe within the hour. Then they give you a supreme ID 959662314 and ask you the password, '6265' . Then they flash this information onto your screen showing you $90 for fixing the computer and something else all adding up to $450 (AVG is free!) for a new security system and two years free access to help from him personally, NICK SIMONS ( with an Indian accent)! personal phone (02) 8417 2117, employee code 25071986. When I asked if I could also reinstall my current security system he jumped saying, 'oh no don't do that mam'. When I googled letsfix it looks like a legitimate website and when I called the number on the website, (08) 7100 1499, I got the same guy so it looks legit. Wish I'd called Microsoft direct or just simply disturbed my geek housemate. These guys claiming to be at level 26, 44 Market Street, Sydney also left themselves a back door to my computer. Real nice! So now reporting to police. All cards associated with the credit card are now stopped and changed. Reported to Microsoft and now reporting to scamwatch.gov.au pass it on. Had to wipe computer clean and change all passwords etc. still trying to reinstall last back up and security. wasted so much of my time and others. Do back ups on your computer regularly. Hope they catch these guys. They've been at it since 2009 and started getting the scamee to call them since 2015. The phone number is also attached to gsholdings.com with website title Global Derivative Services which have been banned in Australia for not being up to scratch and have had 8 IP Address changes in the last ten years! Hmmm. Hope they gettem.

This happened to me today but the popup that froze my computer said it was the Apple Care I called the number and got a lady also with a Indian accent who told me that she needed to access my laptop to see the problem and got me to download a program to do this she then sent me a list of IP addresses that said they were all established on my PC and that she could connect me to a technician who could fix it for a charge of $200 I told her I couldn't pay that and she replied tell me when you can pay it and the technician will help me now to save my PC and they will deduct the money later I said I can't pay at all and was going to go to the Apple store with my PC the Apple technician deleted the download program from my PC that she had used to access my PC told me the list of problems she had sent me was a load of rubbish and assured me my PC was fine and could be hacked by them again

This happened to me today. I clicked on a web image and received a pop up to call 1800 652 052 as may computer has been infected with a virus. I called the number and something didn't seem right and I felt it was a scam just before I hit enter for the remote access to be handed over. I questioned the caller and his supervisor. Both had Indian accents and sounded as if they were in a call centre. They were adament that they were from Apple support. Luckily for me I remembered the Apple call centre number is 1300 321 456 and I then called Apple, who verified it was a scam.

If you did not let them physically access your computer by allowing them access by remote then nothing has been added or removed from your computer. 100% as before.
To give access, you would have fill a 6 digits access into "letmein software. Their code is a pointer of where you did get caught. They have multiple ways and places to load their funny popups. Have a nice day.

What you are Describing just happened on new and clean version of Windows 10.
When I was using the latest version of FireFox.
It seems to me that its just a newer version of the old
"...Cydoor Spyware Scareware Scam.." with some extra "Junk/Stuff"
But in my case "Cydoor" was not installed and I did not call the 1800 phone number.
I just pressed Ctl-Alt-Del to start Windows-10 Task Manager,
then I just "Killed" Fire-Fox, there by also killing the "Scareware Scam"
In my case I also manually removed the "Scareware Scam" File, as a
scan by Malwarebytes did not find the "Scareware Scam" File.

I had this on my phone and thought I'd call from a private number. All I got was music and no ring tone. I hung up straight away. Clearing my pc with Norton now and I'll contact my banks.
Came up staying error code 131177 and to call the 1800 Microsoft number.
