I have been actively investigating just this over the past few days, so perhaps there is an inside connection?? Was asked for my DOB. I then asked for a number to call back if I wished to proceed with their offer. Then checked here. Thanks to previous commentators.

He said he was from Telstra, gave me his ID number D903455. He knew the exact amount of my latest bill and told me to call 1800 634 055/">1800 634 055 to change my plan.
I checked with Telstra, through their chat messaging and they told me to call 1800 656 166.
I rang this number which was a reverse something or other and said they knew nothing about Telstra. They suggested I call 132200 and was informed that they could not verify Jack ID D903455 or the number 1800 634 055. The number must be a scam.
Yesterday I also had a call from this number, said was Telstra TSA calling to arrange a time/date to have my NBN connected which is ready.. As I get almost daily scammer calls on both landline & mobile saying it's about cutting off my NBN (which isnt connected yet), I was very cautious, told her I felt she was pressuring me. She told me my current Telstra bill amount to verify she was legit. I told her that I'm not ready yet & that I had several months to install. She said they are calling to get people booked in as lots go on holidays, to hospital, etc. I asked for a number to call back when I'm ready, she gave me 1800 634 055, I didnt call them but went into a Telstra store today. They looked up my record and YEP there was the record I also saw of the call yesterday. Also said those TSA staff are on commission, hence the hard sell. Biggest bit of info was that I have until March next year to connect the NBN. They are not scammers just very pushy. Caller: Delta

Just got off the phone with 'Kirra'. She said she was calling from Qld to set up an appointment for a technician to finish installing NBN at my premises. Asked me for account details. She sounded very Australian. I refused to give any details and asked for a number to call her back. She gave the number 1-800-634-055 and ID # D930499. I called Telstra and they had no record of that ID # nor could they get a response from the telephone number given. Advised me it was probably a scam and to have no further contact with them. Offered to block my phone from overseas calls. Also said that Telstra will never cold call for an appointment. They will only do so if an appointment request has been made. I'm glad, based on what I've read here, that I never gave any personal details.
A female operator by the name of Ruchi called me and said she was from TSA Telstra, whoever that is. I was in the middle of lunch so I told her I would call her back later. I asked for her employee number, D916689, and her phone number, 1800 634 055.
After reading the information below, I wont be calling her back.
Glad I read this page. I had Louis ring my mother's phone re nbn connection - agreed to time, date etc and sounded really legit.

He wants to offer me a better phone-deal . He told me the last amount of the last phone bill I paid and asked me for my date of birth to verify. I told him not telling him any personal data, because I can't proof if he is a scammer or not. So he told me , he can't offer me then a better phone deal at all. I answered, it doesn't matter, I prefer staying on my current plan than giving someone my personal data who could maybe booking a hotel room or get a car loan under my name. I don't know if it was a scam or not. But if Telstra wants to call customer for a reason, there must be another way to do so. Like, sending a SMS first with a verification number. In a way like the banks do , if they need to talk to you. In such a way I don't have to give my personal data to anyone on the phone.

Advised that the Telstra account would cease in 90 days and there would be no NBN unless he gets instructions. It's a scam so did not provide any personal details or e-mail, address for him to communicate with. Beware of this caller.

I was given this number by Telstra to call for customer service after I had spoken to them to add a service. Called these people and they are useless. Have no idea about anything. I had an order number for a delivery and wanted to change the address to pick up from a telstra store. I got absolutely nowhere. They wanted me to call them back - who knows why and then they said they would call me back and I have not heard from them since

Said my landline would be cut off (NBN).
Asked to ring them back on 1800 634 055 between 7:30 and 6pm.
Left a Telstra ID number (7 digits long).
When I phone back got an automated answering machine.

Poor audio quality phone line.
Asked for personal details: DOB, phone number
Never rang back as arranged.
At end of call asked for a rating of how they handled the call.
Trying to make the scam sound believable.
He called saying he was from Telstra Head Office (based in Perth) and asked if I was happy with my current plan and data usage. He recommended a new phone and to start a new 24 month plan with purchase of an iphone se with 2 GB data for a loyalty member amount of $54 per month. He said if I'd like to secure this offer I'd need to call him back on 1800 634 055 by Friday (tomorrow) and that I could reach him personally by an Agent number: HA47, he said he worked on Perth time 8:30 - 4 pm. I was suspicious when he suggested that I contact him (instead of Telstra customer service in general). Fair to say I'm not calling him back! Reduced usage allowance and I ran out of allowance in only 20 days. Suspect I will be charged exorbitant rate for rest of the month! Don't recommend you do business with these people for sign-up for the NBN. He said he was in QLD. He said I needed 2 modems, 1 modem for phone & 1modem for computer, we don't even have the NBN in our area & there's no letter. Total idiots.
