Thought I'd googled a legit Netflix number. Gave over details to vertify my identity. They phoned back and invested significant time trouble shooting. They had access to more details about me than I gave them. Said they needed to reset my Netflix account and to verify a code they smsed me. $600 later I had paid for two Dan's Gifted ..... I was not properly alert.

Scam impersonating as Netflix support. The number comes up in a Google search. They asked my friend to remote into their computer to fix the issue and then got my friend to tell them their credit card details and accessed their PayPal. They got around 2-factor authentication on the PayPal account by getting my friend to tell them the code that got texted. NEVER give out your security code over the phone, legit providers won't ask you for this. The scammer made 3 transactions for $100, $100 and $50 out of my friend's PayPal under the name 'PayPal Gift Cards'.

1800 595 174 - scammers pretending to be Netflix.

I found it on the internet and rang it to get assistance with my Netflix account.
They identified themselves as Netflix, but had extremely heavy accents and I struggled to understand them.
The gent wanted my email address and got somewhat aggressive when I wouldn’t give him my password.

I said no one ever from Netflix has asked my password before and I was not comfortable about giving it to him.
He said they always ask for the password – so I hung up.
I tried phoning again and got a lady who said she will look at my issue and would call me back in 15 minutes – 3 hours later nothing.

I consulted your website and rang again using the 1800 950 726 and got a very helpful lady who helped me with my account and to reset my password.
1800 595 174 is a group of scammers.

The same thing happened to me on the 10th Jan 2024. I rang this number 1800 595 174 thinking it was Netflix, its a scam. They tried to get $300.00 & later tried for another $150.00. Lucky for me Westpac were on the ball & they stopped the transactions from going through. It was for gift cards for Dan's Gift Hub.

The following is a copy of what happened to me yesterday on 1800 595 174 (which is the number for Kayo that I found searching for Kayo Australia). They say that they (purporting to be Kayo ) will phone back - but don't, so I phoned again. The line dropped out and the scammer called back using (03) 9013 5174 (supposedly in Victoria) and for me to download a remote access app. He then reestablished my Kayo connection so I thought all was well. 30 minutes later he rings again asking me to give him my bank's one time code number or authenticate it from an email the bank sent me. The message related to a membership to Dan Murphy liquor requiring $300 for gift cards.

Now I was getting suspicious and refused to authenticate. He became argumentative. I closed the call.

Next I saw on my PC the cursor was moving around on various windows so I closed the PC.

I've contacted Kayo, but they show little interest as they only deal with clients by email or their chatbot

""".Thought I'd googled a legit Netflix number. Gave over details to verify my identity. They phoned back and invested significant time troubleshooting. They had access to more details about me than I gave them. Said they needed to reset my Netflix account and to verify a code they smsed me. $600 later I had paid for two Dan's Gifted ..... I was not properly alert.

Caller: I called them thinking it was Netflix. JACK answered, sounded professional. I have been having problems loading the app. To cut a long story short I should have known better. The sound of the train in the background should have been a red flag. Unfortunately I did get scammed out of $1,200. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER. They are low life scammers . Stealing other people’s money instead of looking for a proper legitimate job. I hope they all burn in hell

They are low life scammers
