You ring someone from your landline & before it connects you get this recorded message & then after you listen to the message your call gets connected.
Rang the number & yes it was Telstra NBN sales staff.
I requested to have this message removed & they were OK with removing it but why do they have to put recorded messages on our landline in the first place. Our phone line & internet connection is not due to finish until Feb 2019. This is a form of annoying Telstra customers which in the long run could force people to go to other services (Optus, Vodaphone etc. Damn annoying message but it is legit & is from Telstra.

Your personal data extremely unsafe after being passed onto 3rd parties along with your voice recording. Still waiting

Caller: Don't know. Say they are Telstra but this is a breach of the privacy act and should be removed immediately if owned by Telstra

Recorded message when I make outgoing calls, telling me to ring that number. When I rang the Telstra rep told me that my landline will be cut off in 2 to 12 weeks so I need to connect to the NBN. They said they would remove the annoying and time-consuming message in 24 hours.
Caller: When I made phone calls today and yesterday, I received a message to phone1800 050 022. Then I could not make any outgoing call anymore

Not okay intrusion of privacy and has something to do with NBN. I see this as a form of phone marketing and is not on.
Why is telstra using such a service?

Oh Telstra what can I say, complaints, escalated complaints and an overseas case worker later, promises to remove and staff on the above number and still you do not refuse it. Disgraceful! Do not trust them when they tell you it will be removed in 24 hours or then tell you 48 hours max. They are still doing it and we made the damn order, DEMENTED
