A message appears appears on your computer screen, claiming your PC has been hacked (includes Microsoft logo) and advises you to call toll free number 1800 014 762. The call goes through to India to a company claiming to be Live Technology Tech support. They say they can fix your problem for $330 (requests name, address, and CREDIT CARD details. They then remote into your PC, with you unwitting help and steal all your info. NEVER CALL THIS NUMBER. Instead, restart your computer in Safe Mode (press F8 before the Windows logo appears), and restore to a previous date. THEN CHANGE ALL YOUR PASSWORDS.

Indian 'Tech Support' company, claims to be a branch under Microsoft. This is a lie. For me they called themselves 'First Secure Solutions'. Did the whole thing where they log into your computer and 'fix' it. I took them up on a 1-year plan to keep my computer fixed, I called them up to clean up my computer twice in that time. Week or two ago they call again trying to 'renew' the plan, and tell me it's $400. I say I want to cancel it, so guess what... that's also $400. That's when I truly knew what happened. So I googled the 3 different numbers they gave me. This was one, so were 1800 989 083 and 18001021100. 2/3 numbers received mass reports of being scams

Scammed me for $400 a year ago. Now they're calling asking me for a $400 renewal of some sort of plan. When I asked to terminate the plan, guess what... that'll cost $400 please.
Filthy scammers. Give them nothing. They also go by the name 'first secure solutions' and use the number 1800 989 083 and the name 'Eric Lundy'. Just in case you need further proof

1800 014 762 is a nasty call centre based in India that pretends to be working as or for Microsoft support team.( Apple computers are an easy target). They are fake, fake, fake. Those scums are installing malwares and viruses from popups or with bundles software as Adobe Flash. More important, Porn sites are 98% to be found as their favourite way of passing their viruses. Your internet browser suddenly freeze and your all computer is frozen. Best way is to shut your computer down ( by pressing power button for 20 seconds or to make sure unplug Your computer). Fear and stress will take over with messages saying that your computer has had a virus attack. Restart with a clean browser cache and a run of a antivirus if you have one. Talk to someone if you are not reassured or still in distress. This free phone call number is targeted to Australian 's audience. Note that nothing has changed in your computer system but check if some extensions had been added to your browser. Do not let those curry scumbags win.

they got to me ... very convincing ... computer was frozen let them have control to fix .... allowed a credit card transaction of $US500 for fix and "Microsoft added warranty and security program" but does not appear to have been processed. Even had follow up call to check everything okay then two weeks later (today) they came back ... something about giving me a refund because the added program was incompatible with my computer. Unwittingly let them have screen control while bank account open (was half asleep) so they could "give me the refund" so refund goes in with an extra $9k then "O sh*t, I'll get fired if boss finds out." and screen doctored to show new balance ... was feeling suspicious before but that's when I knew for certain that I had been had. The following was the old routine ... has to be cash ... post office etc. Went to bank and got accounts killed ... no money lost ... computer seems okay.
