Not actually a call, this was the supposed number to call in a Westnet Bill Payment Failed email received days before the bill is due to be paid automatically as usual and this never happens, payments are always on time on the dates they are due and never before they are due. Email says and looks like its from Westnet "Accounts" (or something similar) but says its from an @iinet.COM.au email address. This is the giveaway as while Westnet were taken over by iiNet some years ago (very unhappy with that) so could be iiNet trying to handle the matter , they Both fall under TPG Group now. Also the iiNet domain is .NET.au NOT .COM.au. as is shown. Almost had me when I saw it until I thought this was too early for them to charge me, then looking again and seeing the scam email address (wrong domain). I didn't call the number provided as contact but it is different to the one on the company website given as number to call for Account / Payment problems so yet another giveaway. Very stupid attempt at a scam email.

I am a TPG customer and I have received several emails from an account which looks like a legitimate email but the phone number provided is 1300 855 006 which does not belong to TPG. The email address is "Support TPG Billing <noreply-account @ tpg.com.au>. It asks to update my details in regards to a credit card payment. I informed TPG and forwarded them a copy of the email but their answer was pathetic. Please do no click update details as it is a phishing exercise to get your information. TPG wake up to yourself and when clients advise you of a serious concern take action.

Caller: Scam email This is the correct number for Westnet, but the email it is contained in is a phishing scam. The "click on" address in the email is auswestnewebmail-94402e.ingress-baronn.easywp.com/yaiwest.
The address the email appears to come from looks authentic.

I received an email from "IPrimus, bellowing about the inability of debiting my credit card and the "bank" declined it". The Logo was incorrect, they did not mention me by name, did not know my "reference number", my address, no mobile number and did not leave their own name. This is the second one I have received, so have decided to play along. I sent back an email asking them to ring me so we can sort "the problem" out. I await with bated breath, but guess what?, I expect nothing. Hee hee hee

Email from supposed Westnet telling me to update credit card details. Noted the send address very similar to Westnet except the word used in fake is account whereas real Westnet has an s on the end, accounts. Getting mightily sick of these scams.

Another TPG email phishing for my Credit card details. They uued this number to contact. I did not call them back. Sent email to TPG to advise them but received no reply from TPG.com.au. Great service guys... not! Pretty bad when the ISP can't filter spam relating to their company.. sad joke really.

Caller: Spam email Same here. I have received this type of email and forwarded it to TPG. All I got was an automatic reply from a computer but nothing gets done. Received one again today. I am not a programmer but I would think that TPG would be able to filter out this spam as it passes through it's own server and they would know that the sender's email was not their company and therefore automate it so that it gets deleted before placed on our email accounts.

Caller: Scammers This is the legitimate phone number of Westnet but is being used on a scam under the TPG letterhead. Some nonsense about payment being rejected. Clicked on their link (from a secure environment) and "updated" my credit card details using an auto-generated fake number, using the most abusive language possible in the text fields. It's at least satisfying to give these scumbags a serve.

Caller: TPG email message re credit card being declined Email from TPG bringing attention to a declined credit card payment for account. The contact number on the email is 1300 855 006, which is not the correct one for TPG, so there is no doubt this is a scam seeing there are other reports on this website.

Similar messages by email but supposedly from TPG on (fake) TPG letterhead saying bank had rejected a credit card payment so click on included link to "'update payment details'' - appears to coe from email ''noreply-contact @ tpg.com.au''. Another of many fake ''TPG'' emails with included 'links' to update payment details. Or ring this number!!!
