It's not a scam.
This thread is weird...I can see why scammers would write comments saying it's legit if it was a scam; but I can't see why people would write saying it's a scam when it is legit.
Anywya, you don't have to take my word for it, if you get a call and you don't believe it go to CBA's page on facebook and write on their wall asking them to confirm that that number is real, or as someone above suggested, call Netbank and they can redirect you.

Definite scam. Commonwealth Bank has one main no. 132 221 and would never ask you to call another phone no. JUST IGNORE MESSAGE!

I just called it back after getting the missed call. They confirmed some transactions I had made overseas for hotels. They didn't ask for any of my card details or passwords.
If you don't believe me and think im 'scamming' call up and check, just don't give them personal details. Duhh.

Number is a scam. Ignore all replies saying its valid they are part of the scammers themselves.
Commsec have my direct mobile details and would not need to use my landline if they thought it was something as urgent as Fraud.

THIS IS A SCAM! All of the comments claiming it is not a scam are posted by the scammers who are posting on all sites (with exactly the same worded comments) that come up when you google the number. I contacted CBA through the regular number and there was nothing wrong or any suspected fraud on any of my accounts. I didn't call the above number, but it's likely they already have all of your details, which they will read to you, and then just ask for the digits on the back of your card "Just to verify you're in possession of the card". Always call the direct CBA line.
And to the scammers: Get an actual job. Some of us work hard for what we have and we don't steal from other people to get it - you make me sick.

We have confirmed that the number is not a Commonwealth bank number and it has been reported as a attempted fraud. If you do receive a call ignore and report to your bank or the Police.

I received BLOCKED calls on both my mobile and home phone number. I immediately rang my CBA bank manager who confirmed it was a legitimate automated service from the CBA. The fraud system looks for questionable forex/visa transactions and asks you to identify yourself by selecting your birth month from a series of options. It will then give you the last 4 digits on your VISA card and identify the transactions that it has queried. Your acceptance of the transaction will allow the CBA to continue processing. There are no other identity questions.

We had a call, automated message rather. Claimed to be from Commbank and said to call this number urgently.
I didn't trust it so looked for a number on the official Commbank website, 13 2221.
Called them and they claim to not know the number nor do they say they have noticed anything out of the ordinary and that they had not called regarding anything fraud.
Still recieved another call again this time not just saying to call a number but saying to hit any key to continue, again was automated.
Didn't trust is specially after calling Commbank so have ignored it.
The verdict it still out, hopefully if any bogus transaction take place Commbank will re-credit them and call it their loss because they were notified of all this happening.
