This is a dodgy scam. They coldcontact you, and pretend to be someone you have been dealing with. They will ask for your insurance details. Give them only fals information if you must speak with them. They collect the information for potential identity theft.

A capitalist at work? No reference to what is provided, just simply criticism of the technology method involved in contact.

This is Max Slaney & Associates maxslaney . com . au spamming with a fake message. This verges on the most unethical of telemarketing practices. Why would anyone ever do business with them. Spamming scumbags.

I receive a call from the same John Philips every year at this time of year (for the last 5 years or so), asking to leave my email address on this voicemail number 1300 725 296 so he can send me a quote on income protection insurance for which they can be up to 50% less than competitors. One would think he might know I'm not interested and stop calling,since I've never responded to his messages.

Two identical voicemails left by the same "person" with Anonymous CallerID. Since both recordings are identical, was actually a machine rather than a person), asking for our e-mail contact details. At best, this is rude, automated tele-marketing, at worst, it's attempted identity theft and/or fraud. NB:

I've found them, I know where they are and I'm going for blood. I'm going to enjoy this.

Ok so this seems to be a legit business, HOWEVER on the 25th of Jan 2013 I got the same message!

I even have it in my emails "John Phillips said he called last year about income protection" etc that we marked as "shonky"

Good Ol' John Phillips called yesterday after our open hours. We've never spoken to this guy before, yet he left a message saying he had spoken to us last year about income protection.

If he HAD spoken to us last year he would have had our email already, and if he genuinely wanted to contact us all he would have to do is google our business name and they would have had our email address.

Furthermore, this number is listed to M Slaney, and the address listed looks more like a home than anything, and if it was a legit company, surely it would have directed me to a website or company name?

We just had a call at our workplace from "John Phillips" same spiel called us last year bla bla bla
So I called the number back and spoke to a lady there who was like oh he must of called you but he isn't here. I said I got the message 30 secs ago. Massive scam and couldn't really tell me anything about the company to stay away

I received one of these calls at my workplace today as well. The message was the same as described by "Matt". It would appear to be a pre-recorded message, since the first portion of it was cut off by our voicemail system.

Got a message at my workplace from this guy 'John Phillips' running off a spiel about contacting us last year for insurance, but acting like he'd contacted a private residence, not a business. Call was made after 7pm, long after business hours. Requested that I leave my email address on a message bank on this number.

As he did not request a specific person to call, proving a previous relationship, I can only assume that he has not contacted us before, and that his premise is a false one.

Please be wary; if somebody can start a business relationship with a lie, they can end it in tears.

I wish these people would stop ringing they are spamming the phones and are scum.
